Ik was blij met This was my 5th visit and it never disappoints. The staff are wonderful and are always willing to lend a helping hand if you need or forget something. You have everything you need there facilities wise. They facilities are always clean and it's a brilliant location.

WARNING: Staying at Croyd may ruin every other campsite for you.

Seriously, this place has set the bar so high I’m not sure anywhere else stands a chance.

First off, the cleanliness is unreal—an easy 10/10. I’ve stayed in hotels that weren’t as spotless as this campsite. The toilet block deserves its own review. The ladies’ loos are so nice they look more like a spa than a campsite, complete with hair dryers and straighteners. I found myself wondering if I should’ve packed a dressing gown instead of a sleeping bag!

The biggest asset, though, is Stu and his amazing team. They’re genuinely some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, always smiling and always happy to help. A special shout-out to Teddy, who was an absolute star. They all go out of their way to make sure everyone has the best possible stay, and you can tell they genuinely love what they do.

The views are simply stunning, and the location is perfect—less than a five-minute walk into town, where there are some lovely pubs, cafés and little places to explore. You get the best of both worlds: peaceful camping with everything you need just around the corner.

I’ve camped in a lot of places over the years, and I can honestly say this is the best campsite I’ve ever stayed at. Croyd has officially spoiled camping for me because everywhere else now has a lot to live up to.

We’ll 100% be back… although I almost don’t want to tell anyone how good it is in case it gets too popular!

Ik was niet blij met We booked a five-night stay at Camping @ Croyde Bay but ended up leaving after four nights because we simply weren't enjoying our stay.

First impressions weren't great. The young man on reception was grumpy and unfriendly, with no real welcome, "please" or "thank you". Hospitality starts at check-in, and unfortunately we didn't feel particularly welcome.

The campsite advertises itself as having large, level pitches, but this certainly wasn't our experience. The site is built on the side of a hill, and our pitch near the bottom was far from level, making camping much less comfortable than expected.

One of the biggest disappointments was the noise. The campsite backs directly onto the village car park, which became noisy every evening with loud music, revving engines, shouting and even wheel spins. Next to the car park is a pub that remained noisy until around midnight, after which groups of people leaving the pub continued shouting, swearing and making noise as they walked through the village.

To make matters worse, a neighbouring car dealership has an extremely bright security floodlight that illuminates much of the camping field throughout the night. It was bright enough to disturb our sleep.

At around £37 per night, this is one of the more expensive campsites we've stayed on, so we expected a peaceful, well-managed site. Unfortunately, we didn't feel it offered good value for money.

The booking information also states that groups of five or more are not permitted, yet one evening there was a group of around fifteen young people camping together who were noisy, playing guitars until around 2am, and repeatedly kicking footballs around the campsite, with the ball regularly ending up on our pitch. On what would have been our final night, another large group of unaccompanied youths pitched up immediately next to us. They were also kicking footballs around onto our pitch and were already loudly discussing how drunk they intended to get that evening. At that point we decided to cut our holiday short and go home a day early.

The location is convenient for Croyde beach and the village, but if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing campsite, this wasn't our experience. Between the noise, uneven pitches, lack of enforcement of the site's own group policy, and the high price, we left feeling very disappointed.

It is regrettable that during your stay, some younger adult couples camped in the same field as you and, unbeknownst to me, were less inclined to play by the site rules. This is something I do not tolerate, and I would have dealt with it if I had been made aware.
We are close to the village, and at times/busy weekends, and the World Cup, there may be some noisy people (in the village areas) beyond our control.
People say we are prized for our level pitches and clean facilities. We also get a lot of praise for being a quiet, family-run campsite with owners living on-site. However, it is clear that we missed the mark on this occasion and will do better.

There are clearly laid out spaces to set up camp; onsite coffee facilities; amazing bathroom set up with a separate family area; feminine hygiene facilities (THANK YOU SO MUCH); areas to dry wetsuits; and free washing up liquid. This is a beautiful stay with spectacular views and wildlife. Bunnies galore, a hedgehog hid under the car, and the fluffiest fox I’ve ever seen ran within a metre of the tent. Great campsite and well located for pubs, bars and the beach.

Ik was niet blij met The only side note I’d add is be aware the (seemingly) Friday mid morning Stu mows the grass. It keeps the area looking immaculate, but be wary if you suffer from hay fever! My partner was not well prepared for our Friday lie in…

Ik was blij met Really clean, very quiet campsite perfect location walking distance to pubs a the beach. Warm welcome when you get there. Very basic but everything you need from a site. Would highly recommend
