Macdonald's Farm Touring and Camping

Ik was blij met Cannot fault this campsite at all. From the moment you arrive staff are super helpful, food is amazing, facilities amazing, petting farm great and only a 10 minute walk from the beach. And for the price it is an absolute gem.

Ik was blij met This was a lovely site, quite peaceful, but then we did stay at the end of season. There are showered and an outside shower for washing off the sand from the beach. Also a great touch of having a dog washing station. There was a launderette but with only one washing machine and I think 2 dryers. Great little bar and somewhere to get pizza and loaded fries etc if you can't be bothered to cook. Lovely outside areas with chickens wondering around, and some llamas, pigs, goats and guinea pigs to look at.

Ik was niet blij met The bar was a tad expensive, but then I suppose it is Cornwall. There was no mention that counts were required for the launderette facilities, which was a bit inconvenient. I would also think that in season if you are offering this sort of facility,that a couple more of each would be worthwhile. I didn't find an opportunity to use a dryer as they were always in the, even though the campsite was very quiet. I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the showers and toilets. Even though when we arrived one area was apparently being cleaned, I didn't really see evidence of this. I used the same shower every time and in the four times that I used it, it had not been cleaned by a staff member. Also the toilets in the car area were not particularly clean. It's the attention to detail that is missing. If the person's doing the cleaning are not moving the bins and the toilet brushes etc to clean behind, then I do not have faith the the actual cleanliness. Some attention to detail wouldn't go amiss.

Ik was blij met Excellent site, great facilities. The park is fantastic for all ages. Fantastic food on site too.

Ik was blij met The park is so child friendly plenty for them to do.
Having bar and restaurant on site is a plus too.

Ik was niet blij met Showers, they need more blackout privacy glass.
The frosted window isn’t good enough you can still see people walking passed the windows,
Toilets blocks could be better you can see straight under the doors of the unisex toilets.

Ik was blij met This was a lovely, clean, friendly campsite. The pitches were flat and we had plenty of space. We liked being on the side of the campsite that was far away from the farm animals.
The cafe/restaurant and bar was brilliant, we enjoyed being able to sit outside and listen to music with a few pints of Rattler!
The view of the sunset from the reception was fantastic and the short drive to the beach was really handy (we didn't fancy the walk up the hill).

Ik was blij met I found Macdonalds through a Google search and I'm so glad I did. It's such a fantastic campsite! We liked the great location of Macdonalds as its only a short walk from Porthcothan beach, which is a really gorgeous beach. The restaurant and bar area were the best we've ever had at a campsite. Great food, live music was incredible and the staff were always friendly. The toilet block area was always clean but then we have a small complaint to follow. The view over the fields was stunning and we could also see the lights from Boardmasters, where our eldest was staying. The free WiFi on site was very easy to log in to and we had signal on our pitch towards the back of the site. We've never had that facility on a campsite before and it was a lovely perk to have with a teenage son. The vibe there was really relaxed and we had the best 5 nights away with friends who also loved the site!

Ik was niet blij met We have 2 complaints about our stay. Although the toilet block was clean and modern, only having 2 showers for women, 2 for men and another 2 for families is not enough at all for 66 pitches (when full as it was when we were staying). I also only had hot water for about 1 minute of my shower and then it was cold on 2 separate days. There is no temperature dial, just a push button. The other complaint was our pitch location. We were on 64 which was on a corner section. Although nice and big for our tent and car, it tended to be a cut through for people and just didn't feel very private. It didn't offer any privacy either as we had others behind and to the side with a road in front. We would definitely book again though and want to come next year, just we'll ask for 1 of the more secluded pitches.

Ik was blij met Good facilities, nice play area, good choice of food and drinks. Site is well maintained.

Bus picks up from the front of the site so can travel round the various bays.

Ik was niet blij met Bid scarer/gas cannon going off in field behind the campsite so our dog spent the week really distressed as goes over multiple times an hour during daylight hours.

Couldn't really walk anywhere with the children from the site even the beach as the roads are narrow and felt unsafe with no footpath.

The site gets really busy with people parking to use the restaurant on friday/Saturday night. Had to queue on one occasion to drive onto the site.

Ik was blij met Absolutely gorgeous site, facilities are amazing. Lovely vibe. Would 100% return.
Pitches are very generous. Felt really safe and secure. Good food on site, real bonus there is a freezer although someone did take out ice one day but the venue replaced it which was super lovely!
People were respectful of quiet time in the evening. Kids were up quite early and were a bit noisy but that’s what you get for a family site and to be expected, just missed my lay in a bit!
The local beach is simply stunning we went down each night for sunset and it was yeah just beautiful.

Ik was niet blij met There was a slightly jarring I think bird scarer? in the adjacent field to the pitch we were in which was extremely loud and unpredictable and it went off a lot. I’d say it may spook a few dogs. This went off quite early in the morning and throughout the day, did make me jump quite a few times!
The WiFi didn’t work for me at all and I had virtually no signal, not exactly a problem and meant I spent less time on my phone but it would have been good to have more consistent connection so we could stream our nightly fix of love island!
