Ocknell Caravan and Camping Site

Ik was blij met Lots if room, fairly good pitches, well laid out. Set in a beautiful environment. I stayed in the Glades area which was nice and quiet. The staff were both friendly and helpful, the shop is basic but has enough to get you out of trouble. The toilet block was clean and maintained regularly.

Ik was blij met Lovely site. Check in process was smooth and we found a lovely pitch. Site was clean and well kept with plenty of bins. Toilets were clean and well kept. Staff were lovely and helpful. We’ll definitely be back.

Ik was niet blij met Not much to dislike really. It’s a basic site with basic but adequate facilities. Nothing bad to say about it

Ik was blij met - spacious pitches
- was able to pick our own pitch and not allocated to it
- quiet tent area
- very slow paced and relaxing
- the rangers / staff were really helpful and friendly
- location is great and easily accessible to the dual carriageway but equally convenient to drive through New Forest and take in the views
- breathtaking environment and views
- well kept site
- clean toilets
- clean washing area
- nice little shop
- very easy to check in
- horses, donkeys, cows & deer roaming through the site which is lovely!
- peaceful environment with lots of wildlife to explore

Ik was niet blij met Below is a few key areas we disliked, however, this did not effect our stay and is purely for future visitor’s info. We love Ocknell and plan on returning for a 3rd year

- can hear the traffic from carriage way even from the furthest point of the campsite
- 1 toilet block is fairly far away from the Glades which is a dedicated tent spot (where people tend to need to use the toilet block even more so)
- the site is based on an old RAF base and is full of concrete under the grass
- because of the concrete, you need special concrete tent pegs which were £1 per a peg which ended up costing us £16 in total!! Which was very over priced!
- WiFi doesn’t work

Ik was blij met Lovely campsite in the new forest, field of woodland pitches. Lots of space from other campers, specific tent fields away from motorhomes, clean toilets and friendly staff
Would stay again

Ik was blij met Spacious pitches with plenty of privacy, great location within the New Forest with plenty of walking trails to go and explore and a lovely welcome from the reception team. Also pleased to see recycling options on a campsite as usual its just a general waste bin!

Ik was blij met The Glades is an amazing area for tents or small campers - felt informal and relaxed, right in the woodland. Magical.
Loves the way you could wander into the new forest (woods and heath) in all directions with no fences.

Ik was niet blij met Slight hum of traffic from road, but easy to ignore!
No showers, but that’s not a problem for one or two nights (unless you have own facilities for longer stay)

Ik was blij met A lovely site plenty of different places to pitch and the staff were very welcoming and helpful.

Ik was niet blij met The only issue is our dog has her own issues with traffic noise and we were closed to a busy dual carriageway.
