Ik was blij met It was a very cute place to stay however we didn’t end up staying we lasted 2 hours and left

Ik was niet blij met Bin liners in the bin as described, the fox/ dog poo cleaned up as it was stood in! The owners bringing fire wood over as they said they would, an actual mattress on the bed instead of just a topper on some wood, the walks better described as we couldn’t find anywhere to walk around the area!

We have had 32 reviews this year and we are pleased that 30 were 10/10 and 2 were a 'disappointing' 9/10. Then there is your review - which we feel we need to reply to give a balance to your musings. Hopefully our future customers will read your review and our responses and make their own judgement.

When you first arrived you seemed rather excited and told me that you had seen our site on Tik Tok before booking which was a bit strange as we have no presence on Tik Tok. So I checked online and couldn't find anything about Foxwold Huts (UK) anywhere but did find a prominent alluring Tik Tok promoted site with sheep, hills, off grid and is called Foxdown Hut but it is New Zealand. Just a thought.

I'd like to reply to your points and I hope we have grasped your dislikes but they are written in a way that makes it difficult.

'Bin liners in the bin as described' - there was a bin liner missing from the external bin which I pointed out to you said I'd bring one, I did but you'd left. There are also spare bin liners in the kitchen drawers, perhaps you didn't find the drawer.

Fox poo - we have 20 acres of meadow, hedges, wood, river and walkways which have abundant wildlife and pets. These animals do poo arbitrarily, through necessity or to "mark" their territory and we do regular walks to clean up especially around the huts. But sometimes some pesky animal residues are missed and for this we are sorry.

Firewood. - at 2.15pm you asked for a box of wood for the evening and at 4pm I brought you a box but finding you not there I assumed you'd gone out to savour some of the local walks and left the box for your return.

Bed. There is a futon mattress on the lower bunk and a full mattress on the top bunk each bed has a topper and a bed sheet and a duvet as well as pillows and spare quilt for the colder nights. You are correct the bed base is made of wood, I was unaware of any preferences you may have had regarding manufacturing materials. We have had nearly 200 people stay in George and you are the first to make this insightful observation.

Walks - We are 2 miles from the Yorkshire Dales National Park and 4 miles from The Lake District National Park (1700 square miles of potential) and you couldn't find a walk. If you had simply asked for some recommendations I'd have happily made a few, or you could have had quick look on the socials to get some inspiring ideas. Personally I'd have started with a map.

You also gave us some private feedback which mentioned money, the time you "lasted" and that our site "wasn't as described online". We feel that you managed to find a number of problems in your 90-120 minutes on site but failed to communicate anything to us while here, instead sending a curt review. You are of course entitled to your opinions but there are a few that are troublesome and if you really mean what you state they need to be taken to Pitchup where you can make a specific complaint about what is described on their website as we cannot find anything. All our bookings are made through Pitchup and we have had to have all information cleared by their site - we believe it is correct.

Whilst it is a pity you had such a bad time and could only bear 2 hours, we wish you the best of luck in your future travels.
We would simply advise any issues to be raised at the time with the site directly if you are dissatisfied in any way. Face to face communication is a skill and is often the best route and we wish you luck with this development. Let's hope our next review is from a more mature couple and realistically reflects what we offer.

Ruby catered for all our needs. Bed very comfortable. Outdoor shower very quirky and loved the experience. Well thought out spaces on site. Lovely place to stay and owners very helpful and friendly. Will visit again. Thankyou x

Ik was blij met Absolutely adorable. Such a peaceful place and a perfect getaway. The George hut, with its bunks and an additional sofa was great for my two friends and I. Everything clean and well cared for. Outdoor kitchen was great for cooking. Huts are well-spaced for privacy. Delightful outdoor shower and well-thought-out charging shed for phones with individual lockers. Definitely hope to return.

Ik was blij met Everything! From a hut, to well equipped kitchen, outdoor shower to location. Everything you need for a lovely time in Lake District. Definitely will book again. Huts are in good distance from one to another which gives you privacy. Firepit by each hut. Pet friendly.

Ik was blij met Absolutely loved it! The set up and surroundings are 'spot on' . The hut is super comfy with all we needed for our stay . The open air shower is great! and the compost toilets work perfectly. All was above and beyond our expectations. The hosts are very welcoming and very informative. Such a tranquil and relaxing experience. We 'will' return soon for definate.

Ik was blij met Everything about this site is just perfect! So pleased to have found it. Went as a family of 5 plus 2 dogs staying in Ruby with a tent pitched next to the hut. Charmingly rustic and quirky but with everything you could possibly need. Don’t be put off by the outdoor shower, water was hot and just a joy to be showering in the open air! The owners were so helpful, nothing was a problem at all (even extra marshmallows when we forgot to pick them up at the shop!). We’ll definitely be back!

Ik was blij met we have stayed here 3 times now and look forward to our next stay. The place is peaceful and relaxing. The accommodation has everything you need and the owners can’t do enough for you. We stayed as a family with one small child and a dog. Surrounded by lovely walks. We can’t wait to book another trip.
