Ik was blij met Very nice staff, a very tidy site. Great facilities. Lovely walks. A 40 min walk into Ambleside.

Ik was niet blij met No restaurant, however some food vans come at the weekend.

Ik was blij met The location, area and cleanliness excellent. The premium showers blocks were warm and the shower cubicles were large.

Ik was niet blij met The hard standing was very difficult to peg anything in even with screw pegs and a drill.

Ik was blij met Play park was great for the kids.
Nature trails and walks into nearby towns were great.
Some of the facilities were lovely, others not so.
The shop was well supplied.
The food truck on some evenings was delicious (pre order for a specific time, it gets very busy)
The laundry and drying room were very handy for a wet week!

Ik was niet blij met The facilities closest to us were very run down, with one dribbly shower. The other facilities you needed a code to get in, not 100% sure why?
It seemed more set up for the static caravans, not tourers.
Our pitch (closer to the park for the kids) was a fair walk to the nicer facilities and washing up etc.
Unfortunately, one of the reception staff members came across as quite abrupt and unhelpful during our stay.
I appreciate that everyone can have an off day, and perhaps she was having a particularly difficult week. However, the interactions felt dismissive and did not reflect the level of customer service I would have expected. A more welcoming and helpful approach would have made a significant difference to our experience.

Most of our reviews regularly highlight how friendly and helpful our staff are, so it is a real shame that on this occasion you were left feeling dismissed and unwelcome. We certainly don’t want anyone to leave feeling that way.

Ik was blij met The camp was very very well kept. The wardens were very friendly and offered help all the time. Bathroom and toilets were the best I have come across,clean and tidy and very warm.The pitch was very clean and easy to get to.

Ik was niet blij met Not a dislike but if you’re not a walker or hiker you have to use your car.
The road in is a little bit tight
If they put a bar and restaurant in it would be a fantastic camp

We completely understand your point about getting around without a car. While we don’t have a bar or restaurant on site, we feel that adding these would change the peaceful, natural experience that we work hard to offer. Fortunately, there are several pubs and restaurants within walking distance of the park, so guests can still enjoy a meal or a drink without needing to travel far. There are also local taxi services available, and there is a bus stop just outside the park gates, which provides an alternative for those who prefer not to drive.

It’s wonderful to know you enjoyed your stay overall, and we hope to welcome you back again in the future.

Ik was blij met Lovely site, been here on a few occasions. Good base for some lovely walks. Nice walk into Ambleside. Good bus service from entrance. Nice pizza from the van on a Wednesday.

Ik was niet blij met The red road up to the site can be a bit of a struggle after a day out.
