Dale Head Farm Shepherds Hut

Ik was blij met What a fabulous place to stay (my favourite of all accommodations during our C2C trek across northern England). The hut was very comfortable (including bed, which was large enough for 2), with many windows that opened for airflow and all the windows had coverings so that we could sleep. It was next to a lamb enclosure, which added to the enjoyment of our stay. We could watch the horse across the way, listen and watch the large variety of birds, and had a full bathroom next door. The basket breakfast was substantial and wonderful. The hut was in an enclosed space for max privacy and the views were just beautiful. We were also able to purchase a couple of baked delights from the Tea Garden across the lane just prior to closing, that we enjoyed with coffee to close out a long day of walking. Paradise!

Ik was blij met Super simple check in and superb spot with everything I needed. The views across the valley made it an incredible stay; all I could hear were sheep and sounds of farming!

Ik was blij met Me and my two children absolutely loved our stay at the sherpards hut. It was so cosy and nice. The hosts were very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was lovely. We will definitely be staying again.

Ik was blij met The shepherds hut was incredible, you could just turn up, everything was provided, including a gorgeous breakfast, cooked for you at a time of your choosing. The beds were really comfy and the view and peaceful location was incredible. We had problems keeping the wood burning stove lit and Farmer Chris came and helped us, nothing was too much trouble. We were also entertained by the farms sheep all trotting past to go to bed. Private bathroom just for you and great location for exploring and walking. Maggie gave us a fantastic run down of places nearby. The on site tea rooms offers homemade scones and cakes, all made on the farm. Can't recommend enough and can't wait to visit again!

Ik was blij met Our host, Maggie, was amazing!! Very kind, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The Shepherds Hut is beautiful, laid out in a great setting. The farm is lovely and the tea room too. We loved our stay and will be booking again. We highly recommend this stay if you’re looking for that rural, quiet getaway. We aren’t big walkers but the disused railway line to the pub was well worth the walk. You can drive too and there is parking just outside the hut.

Ik was blij met Absolutely beautiful, and Maggie went above and beyond. It was really scenic, peaceful and relaxing. Surrounded by stunning views and nature. She was extremely hospitable and friendly. Everything was clean, well kept and homely and we would defiantly come again. Thank you so much for accommodating us, it was an absolute pleasure to stay at the shepherds hut. The sheep’s had also just also lambed which was a bonus, they were super cute. Maggie and her family were happy to show them to us. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and she went above and beyond on all counts. We had a wonderful weekend, thank you so much again and wish all the best for the future. Will definitely be recommending to all our family and friends
