Whether it’s picnics looking out over the marina or lazy mornings walking along the Coventry Canal, there’s plenty of scope for peaceful activities at Kings Orchard Marina in the middle of the Staffordshire countryside. This is a pretty marina location with 20 acres of space, all landscaped and maintained to a high standard, with a marina basin for views and a canal, narrowboat hire and local pub 10 minutes’ walk away. For any keen explorers, the icing on the cake might be that historic Lichfield is 10 minutes’ drive to the west. That means you can explore the medieval city’s 12th-century cathedral, market square and the Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum by day before heading back in the evening to use the site’s food prep area to build a barbecue spread on the grills provided. Handily, there's a food shop under five minutes' drive away. The free-to-use barbecues and picnic tables dotted around the site are useful facilities for those quality times. As for features of convenience, Kings Orchard Marina also has toilets, showers, waste disposal and an Elsan unit. With the Staffordshire countryside on all sides, walk to your heart’s content, but don’t forget that real ales, traditional pub fare and a beer garden await at the local dog-friendly country pub alongside the Coventry Canal. This place, 10 minutes’ walk away, is a good spot for those of you who have brought dogs on your holiday.

Deze rustige, goed onderhouden camping aan de jachthaven biedt ruime plaatsen met elektra en water. Bezoekers prijzen het vriendelijke personeel, mooie kanaalwandelingen naar een nabijgelegen pub en de nabijheid van Lichfield. De voorzieningen zijn schoon, hoewel gedateerd. WiFi is wisselvallig en er is soms geluid van nabijgelegen wegen. De toegangsweg was een probleem, maar recent zijn er verbeteringen.

Ik was blij met Smashing very spacious site with the quiet canal marina as its focal point. 2 lovely wet rooms with shower (with fully re/movable head, and adjustable height, hurrah), loo, washbasin and big heated towel rail/radiator, which was such a treat. It heated the whole space, warmed the clean clothes you'd be putting on, and dried your towel somewhat while you dressed and cleaned up. The exact bit of luxury that makes a huge difference in otherwise quite simple, rudimentary even, facilities.

The expansive rural views and non-busy feel of the site help your brain feel relaxed and at peace, (despite the road noise from the nearby A38, but I did find I was able to tune that out, which I often can't.)

Ik was niet blij met Even with off-peak season lower occupancy, the recycling bins were overflowing. More needed please!

The surrounding farmland is grass and arable, and there was a bird scarer going off during daylight hours very nearby. Can't be helped, but it upset my gunshy collie dog, and meant I didn't get to do her walks from the site and along the canal, as I'd planned. (No problem finding other places to exercise her, Lichfield is very blessed with parks. Darnfield Park is one of her favourites and quite nearby.) It won't stop me using the site again, so I hope to be able to do the circular walks from the site another time, when there aren't crops needing protection.

Ik was blij met Lovely location, friendly welcome and a peaceful stay. I walked the tow path which is beautiful. One way Fradley Junction and the other The Plough pub, I walked toward Fradley.

My van is self sufficient so I didn’t use any facilities so can’t comment on them.

I’ve seen mention that the WiFi didn’t work, it’s not the strongest but was enough for me to get online and watch Netflix.

Will definitely come again 🥰

Ik was niet blij met Site walkway lighting in general is poorly maintained and broken. This has been a long standing problem. But lighting around the office area is always more than adequate. This is especially noticeable and dangerous now the clocks have gone back

Ik was niet blij met Night time walkway lighting fitted but damaged and not working. Long standing fault worsened now getting darker earlier.

Ik was blij met The whole process was good from start to finish. You got there the gates open for you, then up to reception and you were on your pitch within 5 minutes. The information sheet they gave you was very nice as it told you where the local dog friendly pub was (The Plough). It was nice to walk around see the different canal boats.
It was nice to walk out the back gate and walk along the canal to the pub, seeing the different canal boats. The food in the pub was amazing.
The toilets and showers were very clean, I would stay here again.

Ik was niet blij met I wasn't told that I needed a key to get out of the back gate, until I went to reception and asked how I get to the local pub and had to pay a refundable £20 for the back gate key.

The toilets were a bit far away, but that wasn't a problem really.
