Swan Island Camping and Glamping

Ik was blij met Location close to the Thames and the view from the campsite. Close to the pub with good food and drinks.

Ik was niet blij met Overpriced for non-electric pitch, although we were told of sinks not working in Ladies on arrival, i didn’t fancy using the outside sink for brushing teeth etc in the evening. Showers and toilets are portacabins so on the small side. If the outside sink was for washing up it wasn’t obvious and no hot water from what we could see.
This site could be amazing with some improvements to facilities.

Ik was blij met Location is good, peaceful, pub close.

Ik was niet blij met Toilets very poor not flushing, no running water in taps, very run down. Showers worked at least.

Ik was blij met The privacy and the view from the pod across the fields was perfect. Wonderful little place where you’re able to paddle around the island, right past the pods, and to a lovely pub. Check in was very easy and very friendly owners - really can’t fault it!

Ik was blij met Small pleasant campsite in a beautiful part of the country. The swan inn was nearby and reasonable and all the facilities were basic but very convenient. The glamping tent was clean and comfortably decorated.

Ik was niet blij met Some noisy people played their music very late but this wasn't the campsites fault.

Ik was blij met Location is awesome, good point to get on the Thames.
Pub next door is great, menu seems to be getting less since previous stays, but great atmosphere

Ik was niet blij met Facilities dated and lacking proper maintenance.
Bins overflowing.
Cleanliness is a little flakey, but not untidy

Ik was blij met We live locally and love it here. First time we have stayed over and really enjoyed it. We went canoeing, enjoyed the eclipse from the boat, love the pub and had a meteor shower too. Nice to have toilets and a shower, and managed without EHU. Very friendly lady on reception too.

Ik was niet blij met We had a lovely French family next to us, but the family in pitch 11(?), were very noisy until the early hours. Their children were left to make lots of noise and kept us awake until around 0030. I felt sorry for the French family who were closer to them. Very thoughtless.
Not the campsites fault, but they should have been informed about quiet time after 11pm.

Ik was blij met Camping pod fantastic with UBC charging points, running water, toilet, shower, duvet and towels included. Very comfortable. Great value kayak hire from site. Loved swimming in the Thames and having the pub so close. Son fished from site. Ten minutes drive to Tesco and Aldi. Pretty riverside setting. Hosts really helpful and friendly.

Ik was blij met Proximity to the Thames great for arriving by river. Site was very quiet/empty.

The pub on the opposite bank apparently does pizzas.

Ik was niet blij met Not actually the campsites problem but lifting canoes out of the Thames quite tricky - no easy landing location & high banks.

The office was unattended on our arrival. The rubbish bins were overflowing as well.

It’s all a bit down at heel.

Ik was blij met Great location, beautiful and accommodated for groups. Friendly lady on reception!

Ik was niet blij met Showers could be a bit better ( bench for clothes to get changed, floor mop etc)
