Painswick Glamping

Ik was blij met There are four spacious (basically flat) tent pitches which means that it is very peaceful, and the single well maintained toilet/basin/shower room is more than adequate, although when we were there only two pitches were occupied, which meant we never had to wait to use the facilities. Cars are left in a small car park nearby the tents. The separate building by the small lake, with kitchen, microwave, electric kettle, fridge and small freezer, is really useful, together with an inside seating area if required. The site (within a working farm) is located a short 10 to 15 min walk downhill (quite steep) from Painswick village, so uphill walking into Painswick (and it's two pubs!!!). There are a few walks that can be started from the site itself, one of which we did was a 6.5 mile walking loop to Painswick Beacon. Thanks to Rachel for her welcome when we were pitching our tent and for making sure we were comfortable during our three night stay.

Ik was blij met This is a very charming camp site. Only enough space for 4 camping plots without electric hookup but was perfect for our 5 man tent. This was booked as myself with my two sons for a fishing trip away.
The scenery of the lake was outstanding and the cows in the field made this a fun trip to this working farm.
The toilet and shower facilities where perfectly clean and perfect for the 4 tents pitched. The added bonus of the cabin where you could use the fridge and freezer, Kettle snd microwave was a real bonus. Perfect washing up facilities. Parking was fine and it was great it was not next to the tents. Made it feel more remote.
Personally I like birds and spotted over 17 varieties and a deer joined us one evening. While fishing in the evening bays flew around us. It is a very tranquil and relaxing place. The town is a mere 10 minutes walk away up an hill and has a wonderful pub. The landlord was fabulous and the food was really outstanding worth a visit.

Ik was niet blij met We booked this as a fishing weekend. I am afraid my negative comments come now and it’s only related to the fishing lake.
We fished for two days and caught nothing. I only actually saw 1 carp both days. My personal opinion is that this lake had not been stocked with fish for quite sometime. The pontoons for fishing on are a little dangerous, as the wooden planks are rotting. The lake also had too much weed in it.
It’s such a beautiful place I have hated to leave this feedback but course fishing here is currently not worth it.

Ik was blij met Great campsite in a quiet, ‘middle of nowhere’ feel location despite Painswick about 0.5mile away. Nice to have an indoor space with plugs , microwave, kettle and fridge. Clean facilities (only 1 shower & toilet ) but not many campers when we were there so worked fine for us! Thank you

Ik was blij met Beautiful location - cows to one side and idyllic lake to the other. We did a great long walk straight from the campsite and Painswick has a couple of welcoming pubs too!

Ik was blij met The intimacy… only 4 tents allowed. The facilities; shade, seats, kitchen, communal sitting room by the fishing lake.

Ik was niet blij met As it is a working farm there is a hum of some kind of machinery which comes from the barn but it is very low in tone and you get used to it.

Ik was blij met Properly of the beaten track, and felt wonderfully contained. Good facilities inc. microwave and big relax room. Throw in the lake and views and it’s just what every campsite should be!
