Non mi è piaciuto: Our air tent was completely gone with needles like spiky plans on the ground.

Arriving around 5pm, there was no glass pitch with fire pit left (at least visible ones) and we chose to put tent on none glass ground near the only fire pit we could find.

Horrible mistake.

It wasn't easily visible at all, but there were so many needles-like plans fallen on the ground, causing air poles on our tent to lose air. I had to wake and pump in every 1.5hr overnight to prevent tent to fall on our heads.

We also got several splinter on our feet while walking on our shoes on. (lucky I had tweezers with me!!)

We had to shorten our stay to 1 night instead of 2 nights we booked without workable tent, but management refused refund saying it's their policy.

Very disappointed to see no sympathy whatsoever from them of our situation, blaming us of our choice made.

Now it's going to cost us a good few hundreds pounds to replace our fairly new family tent & lost £50 of 1 night stay which we couldn't have.

What's a shame.
We are very frequent campers, but surely not returning......

Regarding fire pits and pitch selection: our team is always onsite and happy to help. If a fire pit isn’t immediately visible or accessible, we’re more than willing to assist in preparing one — especially early in the season when nature can sometimes cover older spots. We do encourage guests to speak to our friendly team on arrival so we can help guide them to a pitch that best suits their needs.

While we do follow our booking policies, it’s never our intention to come across as unsympathetic. We’re truly sorry that this impacted your stay, and although this experience wasn’t what you hoped for, we do wish you many happy camping adventures ahead.

Mi è piaciuto: Loved everything about this campsite, very chilled and peaceful place. Loved being able to have a campfire in the evenings and how clean and looked after the toilets were. We all had a lovely time including my spaniels.

Mi è piaciuto: Everything was amazing and lovely staff, my child 14,11 and 9 had a wonderful time exploring.

Non mi è piaciuto: I should have read site information, but didn't like not being able to unload my car near where I decided to pitch. As a lady of certain years I found it hard dragging the cart to my pitch.

Mi è piaciuto: Really enjoyed my stay at Adventure Pirate, plenty of pitches and nice and quiet apart from the nature around you which in my mind is what makes camping fun. Great value for money also.

This is our second stay at pirate adventure and the second time we had it to ourselves for the majority of our stay. We will definitely be back for a 3rd visit. The site is well maintained, toilets are clean and the owners are approachable and helpful.

Mi è piaciuto: Able to have an open fire in which we was able to cook from.
The park is amazing for the children to head off and explore and play.
It's a quiet area with no trouble makers.

Non mi è piaciuto: Didn't meet anyone that ran the place.
The pitches need better drainage, we camped for a few days and on the first day it rained but we had a constant puddle that wouldn't drain.

You definitely picked a wild weekend to visit — that rain was something else! Normally, our pitches drain really well, but with the sheer amount that came down in one go, even they were struggling to keep up. Thanks for bearing with it!

We were a little surprised by your comment about not seeing anyone who runs the site. During your stay, we were on-site quite a bit — we had birthday parties happening, our holiday club in full swing, and we were up and down the field delivering firewood and keeping the loos clean. Sorry we didn’t cross paths! We try not to disturb guests at their pitches unless needed, as many people come here to relax and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet in nature.

Mi è piaciuto: We loved it! Adults love it. Children were buzzing around! Not even the rain stopped us. The campsite has a lovely canopy (massive), actually I think it was more than one, where we stay protected from the rain and enjoy hours of fun next to the fire pit. It was amazing. Facilities were maintained spotless every day.
