You’re off to the north Devon coast and Exmoor National Park, so presumably you’re hoping for beaches, coast walks, outdoor activities… and maybe a pint of local cider to round off the day? Well, you’ll get all of those at Caffyns Farm, a 160-acre property 10 minutes’ drive from Lynton and Lynmouth – oh, and you’ll get a ‘goat café’ too… This attractive location has sea views from its pitches, giving you a hint that you’re not far from the coast here. In fact, it’s an easy 20-minute walk to the nearest beach, Lee Bay, and as the South West Coast Path runs along the site perimeter, you’ll also be able to walk to places like Woody Bay, Valley of Rocks and Heddon’s Mouth. So that’s a winning location, but there’s more to come – because this is a friendly and laidback place where you can choose your own pitch, get your barbecue or campfire going and generally chill out. You’re welcome to take a wander around the farm to meet the friendly animals (sheep, alpacas and chickens among them) and maybe sign up for horse riding activities – they cater for all levels from beginners to advanced riders. After a walk through the orchard there’s only one thing for it – a pint of the farm’s own cider, of course. You can sample this alongside other drinks in the site’s bar, and also pick up snacks and barbecue supplies in the farm shop. Meanwhile, meals from breakfasts to three-course dinners are available in the barn café. Essential facilities on site include freshwater standpipes, a chemical disposal point, a launderette, two bathroom blocks and a kitchen with fridge/freezer and microwave.

Questo campeggio agricolo è apprezzato per il personale cordiale, la vista mare mozzafiato e gli animali. Piacciono i piazzali spaziosi, il negozio, il caffè con ottimo cibo e sidro locale, e i sentieri. Le strutture sono pulite, ma a volte necessitano manutenzione. Alcuni hanno notato la salita ripida e il rumore. Atmosfera rilassata e posizione splendida, consigliato.

Mi è piaciuto Lovely campsite, very laid back, good choice of pitches -as it was so hot we managed to find a great pitch with sea views but some natural shade.
Great facilities, very clean and showers amazing!! Very powerful and nice to not have to push a button continuously to keep the flow going.
Loved the goats & alpacas and horses. Great woodland walks from the site and fab cafe at Lee Bay (worth the steep hill back) Just a shame Lee Bay doesn’t allow dogs in the summer as our dog could have done with a dip to cool off! But did find a pool for him to go in.
My (grown-up) kids were very excited to get the freshly bottled cider and apple juice made on the farm.
Very quiet at night and super starry skies. Had a great view of the solar eclipse from here (colander method!)

Mi è piaciuto Absolutely beautiful and well-equipped campsite. Very relaxed owners, pitch where you like, facilities to build your own campfire, plenty of water points. The shop, bar and restaurant make this a super convenient spot if you haven't got the whole set up to cook for yourself. The animals are a delight! Lovely walk down to the nearest beach (though quite the slog back up!). We will be back.

Mi è piaciuto The views are great and the staff are helpful and friendly. We loved the Barn Cafe, the food is good and there's a great atmosphere. Its a brilliant place for families, the goats and all the other animals are great for kids. Its clearly a working farm with a diverse range of produce.

Non mi è piaciuto The showers are perfectly functional and do the job but could use some updating.

Non mi è piaciuto We stayed on Saturday night in August, I believe that's the reason why it was so busy and not comfortable stay. We found space for the tent far away from the main area for our tent and WC was about 5-7 min walking. There is only one block for WC and showers so it's very busy and I think it's not normal to accept so many visitors with a lack of facilities on site. The price we paid was twice higher and much worse quality to compare with other camping we stayed a night before. Even more, the host expects people to take their garbage home: it was a board asking for this near the bins. So mainly we paid for the spot in the grass which is overpriced in my opinion. There's a shop on site, but prices in the shop are high. Local sider cost £4.50 per small bottle in the bar.

Mi è piaciuto Campsite had everything you could need and more. The shop was well stocked, the cafe/bar was lovely. The pitches were ample, with plenty of smaller areas to make you feel cosy but not crowded. The showers/facilities were great. AND THE WALKS ARE INCREDIBLE. 100% recommend and i will be coming back.

You’ll be well placed for lots of Exmoor’s top spots when you stay here, including the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth (10 minutes’ drive), the gorge and waterfalls of National Trust - Watersmeet (15 minutes) and the ever-popular Exmoor Zoo (15 minutes). A little further afield, you may like to make your way across the old clapper bridge at Tarr Steps (45 minutes) or conquer Exmoor’s highest point at the 519-metre Dunkery Beacon (40 minutes). If you’re here on a family holiday, you may like to plan outings to places like Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park (20 minutes) or Watermouth Castle (half an hour), which has crazy golf, a toboggan run and rides and activities galore in its 17 acres of gardens. And of course there’s always the option of a day at the beach. Family favourites nearby include Woolacombe (35 minutes) and Minehead (40 minutes), along with Ilfracombe (half an hour), which is also the launching point for boat trips to Lundy island.
