I Just wanted to highlight a few of your dislikes.

Staff are on site daily to assist customers, If you are a late arrival, you are advised at the earliest opportunity to contact the site to inform them of this. in this case a member of staff contacted you, and was told that you would be a late arrival, so he informed you where your paperwork and pitch number would be left on arrival.

I Can only apologise for the electric tripping, Unfortunately on occasion the electric does Trip, depending on what customers have plugged in, If you need to get hold of a member of staff out of hours, it is advisable to call the out of hours number rather than text, text messages quite often are not received or heard, by the time your text message was received the problem had already been rectified.

We are sorry to hear you were having difficulties with the showers, you had reported both of them not working to myself at 08.30hrs monday morning, they were checked immediately and both found to be working completely fine. After speaking to other customers they haven't had any problems. The showers do not come on automatically, after inserting your 50p you do need to make sure the isolation switch is on and that you have pressed the power button for them to work.

Mi è piaciuto The location in the West Lakes is superb. 15 minutes from Wasdale but also 15 minutes from the coast. The river running past the site is very beautiful and the Bridge Inn is a great place for a drink.

Non mi è piaciuto Not much. A small site but well looked after. It has all we needed.

Mi è piaciuto Location and rates excellent. Toilets very nice and clean. Site is perfectly preserved and kept well and clean. Great communication with Marcus and the area is beautiful. Thank you so much!💗

Non mi è piaciuto Would rather have had a free shower and paid for my electricity if I'm asked to pay for something separate but that's just my preference rather than a dislike. But would recommend and stay again.

Mi è piaciuto We liked the that each pitch had plenty of space with half hard standing and half or more grass pitch, and also some backing on to the river Irt. Shower/Toilet are seperate male and female blocks and door is secured with a code. You need 50p for a 10 minute shower which is plenty of time. They are clean and hot water always available . Next to pub 'Bridge Inn' which serves good meals with plenty of choice and there is a small café not far from campsite which is walkable for breakfast 'Woodlands Tea Room' again nice food good choice.
A longer 2-2.5hour walk will get you to Waswater and passing the Sawmill Cafe on the way.

You do not need an alarm clock as the cockerel will wake you up nice and early for breakfast :o) !

Mi è piaciuto We loved this site. So clean and rhe staff were friendly and accommodating. We had a warm welcome when we arrived.
The pitch sizes we very good and it was a nice touch having the picnic benches.

My partner had problems with shower 1.
I had problems with the door handle to the loo. I had to push it down really hard on a few occasions.
I think they need extra showers and toilets or separate wash cubicle, so you can have a private wash.
But these are only small things

We are glad to hear you enjoyed the site, I can only apologise for the shower we are fully aware of the problems that keep happening and intend to have it rectified as soon as possible.

All the doors on site are newly fitted and are working absolutely fine They may be just a little stiff with them being new.

We will take onboard your other points and look to improve this in the future.

Mi è piaciuto The setting was fantastic listening to the sound of the stream. The pitches are generous and good hard standing. The staff are fabulous and very welcoming. Pot wash and facilities are good, 50p for the showers last 10 mins which is plenty enough.

Mi è piaciuto Lovely clean site, added bonus having the river for fishing and a pub on the doorstep, staff very helpful and friendly.

Non mi è piaciuto Unfortunately there was a large group of people congregating around their vans, seemed to be together, took over the site which spoilt what could of been a lovely peaceful weekend, perhaps next time we would return out of season.

We can only apologise for the large group that was on site during your stay, we do not allow group bookings on site as per our terms and conditions, the site is very much for couples and small families, however we were unaware that this was a group booking until they had all arrived on site. I hope this didn't disrupt your stay too much, and we will be keeping a very close eye on bookings in the future as this is not something we cater for.

Mi è piaciuto Camp sight was in a beautiful setting however you need to remember your bug spray being near the river. We all had a great time on the river. We didn’t mind paying for a showers.

Non mi è piaciuto Only one problem. We all thought staff could be rude at times. One example was, we asked about a tight space for a friend that was arriving. He replied with I’ve not even got a caravan and I could drive with one better than any of you. We had a driller and a bus driver with us. And both thought the space was tight for a caravan.

I was exasperated and truly saddened to see your overall review of your stay at The Old Post Office Campsite.

We were extremely surprised when your extended family of 6+ caravans arrived on site. On our terms and conditions it states that group bookings are not permitted on site and bookings of two or more units travelling together are not permitted, however we were unaware that you were a group travelling together until you all arrived, we took the risk and decided to let you stay with it being a bank holiday weekend and the likelihood of you being able to book anywhere else at short notice would be very unlikely.

I watched your entire group of 6+ caravans arrive at the entrance causing humorous carnage and chaos blocking main access and attempting to manoeuvre into pitches big enough for a caravan and its towing vehicle, all while reversing into hedges, driving over and hitting large white painted stones and blatantly driving over the grassed areas. My comment was not meant to be rude, it was based on what I had seen.

Please understand that any "jesting" between the male members of your group and myself was received and taken in the kind and light hearted manner to which it was given and received throughout your stay.

I spent numerous amounts of time out of my maintenance schedule to show 2 children within your group various fishing spots and correct fly techniques to help them out. We lent a body board to another child within your large group, and when another member of your group had a hosepipe burst and spring a leak I pulled out a spare for them to borrow (for which they were truly appreciative). On the 2nd day of your stay another member of your group complained about insect bites to his lower legs, I offered and supplied a bottle of Jungle Formula (insect rep) which was never returned. My colleague also accommodated another two members of your group to stay, without booking and at very short notice.
To make you aware, we still have outstanding balances for 2 awnings and an extra nights stay from members of your "extended family". Customer service 3/10 ?

Moving forward we will be paying particular attention with regards to individual bookings travelling, arriving and holidaying together. In future to protect customers on site and staff we will be referring to and enforcing our terms and conditions.
