Mi è piaciuto Everything was great the camping area was very good. Toilets and shower were very clean. The staff were amazing very friendly and helpful. They have so much to do on site especially for children. We will be camping again. The fishing lakes were very good. The on site food and drinks van was very good food and good value for money.

Mi è piaciuto Everything was within walking distance even for myself having knee surgery. Fishing was brilliant, park was tidy, woman working the kiosk/food stall Friday morning was amazingly helpful.

Non mi è piaciuto The plumbing on the shower might of been blocked and ants but I wasn't going to let those things dampen my stay with the misses and little one.

If you are fishing it’s not as bad as if you are camping
We had a campervan t5 and I spent most of Saturday getting rid of the trillion ants !!
So didn’t stay sat night went home early
Very disappointed with this site

We would, however, like to clarify a few points.

Billingford Lakes is a quiet, self-contained campsite, rather than a traditional staffed holiday park. Guests are provided with the information they need for their stay, and our team are available on site should assistance be required. We respect our guests’ privacy and therefore do not routinely visit individual pitches during their stay.

We are sorry to hear about the issue you experienced with ants. As a countryside site surrounded by lakes, woodland and natural habitats, insects and wildlife are inevitably present. We had not been made aware of an ant problem on your pitch during your stay, so unfortunately we were not given the opportunity to investigate it or see whether we could move you to another area. Had this been reported to us, we would certainly have tried to help.

We are also disappointed to read your comments regarding the toilets. They are regularly checked and cleaned, but we will take your comments on board and make additional checks. The toilet facilities are situated in a permanent location serving the site, and their position is made clear as part of the campsite information.

Regarding the fishing, unfortunately no fishery can guarantee catches. The number or size of fish caught during a particular session can depend on many factors including weather, conditions, location, bait and approach. Billingford Lake contains an excellent stock of fish, including some very good specimens, but even the best-stocked fisheries can have difficult days.

Our tackle shop stocks a range of fishing equipment, bait and supplies, although we do not currently stock live maggots.

We are genuinely sorry that you chose to leave a night early and that your stay wasn’t what you had hoped for. We always encourage guests to speak to us while they are on site if they experience a problem, as this gives us the opportunity to investigate and, wherever possible, put things right rather than learning about the issue after the stay has ended.

Mi è piaciuto Lovely quiet campsite. Excellent playground. Close to Dereham. Nature walks were fantastic and perfect for getting little feet to go on a walk (collecting stamps was a big hit).

Mi è piaciuto This site is so peaceful, (just not for 2 hours on a Friday night, bike meet but all respectful and left by 8pm) we was alone part of our stay! The walks are beautiful, the bailiff and fellow fishermen helpful of this novice mum trying to teach her sons! the children really enjoyed the games laid out by car park and added lil treasures on the walls to play with… WiFi available but doesn’t pick up on campsite, but has signal. clean and friendly

Mi è piaciuto I liked the fact that the campsite was quiet and loved the waking round the lakes some Amazing views

Non mi è piaciuto We didn’t like the fact there was a lot of sharp stones about on the campsite and when we deflated our tent and packed it away it had a hole in the bottom of the floor of the tent so we had to use our puncture repair kit. It was only our second time of using the brand new tent and now that’s happened so very disheartened. The camp site is fine if you have a campervan or caravan but not ideal for tents as they have really stoney gravel plots to park your car but this just goes all in the grass.

We’re very sorry to hear that the bottom of your new tent was damaged during your stay. We completely understand how disappointing this must have been, particularly as it was only the second time you had used it.

Our site is ideally suited to self-contained campervans and caravans, although we do welcome tents. The gravelled sections are provided for parking vehicles beside the grass pitches, but we appreciate that loose stones can sometimes spread onto the surrounding ground. We will review the pitch and parking areas and remove any larger or sharper stones where possible.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Your comments will help us make improvements for guests staying in tents in the future.
