Bridge House Meadows

Mi è piaciuto This is one of the most beautiful, picturesque campsites we have been to in the few years. Secluded pitches (non-electric), beautifully mowed grass/meadow, with islands of long grass with marguerites, tucked between trees.
It feels like wild camping!
There is no elelectricity in these areas, so make sure you have you power supply with you is you want to make coffee or charge your phone.

Non mi è piaciuto The single portaloo is really the most basic of facilities, but we knew that when we booked.

Mi è piaciuto This site is so picturesque I really loved it from the moment we arrived! With a nice pond on site, access to the footpath down the canal and lots of wildlife it’s a really great spot. The owners were lovely and very friendly. There’s no showers on site but we were only staying for one night and the facilities provided were all we needed. A short walk into the village which had a nice pub!!

Mi è piaciuto A gorgeous peaceful, tranquil campsite located next to the river and overlooking a lovely big pond. Extremely quiet, with nothing but the sound of birdsong to wake you in the morning. The perfect place t relax and connect with nature, plus a very pleasant river walk in to Ely, or a short bus ride in to Cambridge.

Non mi è piaciuto Nothing, just remember it has limited facilities - no showers and just a portaloo, which was fine for me in my self contained motorhome

Mi è piaciuto Richard & Tracy are perfect hosts and very helpful, even telling us there was no rush at departure time. This site was exactly what we wanted, so much so we stayed an extra night. There are few facilities but we knew this when we booked as we had read the description fully. Only needed electric & water. We have what we need in our caravan, just wanted peace & quiet which we got. I saw some reviews from stupid people complaining - read the full details before you book, this site doesn't claim to have a pool, club house or erupting volcano on site, if you want this go elsewhere.
If you want a lovely peaceful site tucked away at the end of a no through road beside the river with generous pitch size and lovely owners, with a portaloo so clean it looks like new, then this is your place.
Thank you for a lovely stay, we will definately be back.

Mi è piaciuto Really nice peaceful place, Richard and Tracy the owners are really pleasant don’t overload the camping. We were on a bit on our own where it was nice relaxing listening to the birds.
Will definitely be going back in the future.

Mi è piaciuto Tucked out of the way but easy to find, it's the turning to the right just before the bridge.
It's a well kept grassy site with very spacious pitches at the front with electric hook up or if you're in a tent/car camper drive right to the back to find lots of secluded little spots amongst the trees. So quiet and peaceful here. (Adults only so perfect for those who don't want kiddies running about) Perfect spot for walks along the river with the dog watching the boats.
The owners are a lovely family, very welcoming and helpful.
Felt very safe as a solo female camper and very relaxing for my nervous doggie too ❤️
One extremely clean portaloo! and fresh water tap.
Camping as it should be! 🙂👍🏼

Mi è piaciuto Richard the host greeted us and was very warm and welcoming.
The site was basic in that there was no onsite facilities - showers/washing up stations. There was a portaloo availble to use. However this is mentioned in the site details so we were fully aware before we booked , so no issues there. The site itself was surrounded by trees and the wildlife was great to see especially first thing in the morning. We found the site very peaceful on the whole but if the wind blows in a certain direction you could hear the traffic on occasions but not enough to be put off and we slept well. Stretham village is about a 20 min walk along a country road (very little traffic) or about an hour if you walk along the canal - there is a pub in the high street with a local shop and also a chinese take away. We had a relaxing 3 day break with the dog and enjoyed the walks along the canal.

Mi è piaciuto Quiet isolated site close to the river bank
Lovely setting particularly at the back of the site where you can pitch among the trees. Very warm friendly welcome from the owner’s daughter. Lovely walks along the river banks. Not far from Ely which we would recommend visiting, (free parking and very dog friendly.)

Non mi è piaciuto The only downside was not anything to do with the site but there is no access to any cycle path and limited options to cycle locally without ending up on the A10( not recommended)
