Farm and Fell Campsite

A aimé : Friendly vibe, easy access, got to feed lambs, lots of space, dog friendly, river nearby, friendly owners, not too noisy, fairly level, elsan point and pot wash, beautiful views, walking routes all round the area, close to Sedburgh and owners offer pickup and drop off though we didn’t use. Decent signal around camp, EE 5G mostly sometimes 4G.

N'a pas aimé: Only downside is the lack of facilities, there were only two in use though only had to queue once in the morning to use so wasn’t a huge issue though appears more are being constructed. They’re not fully covered overhead but they are well built and maintained, again we had a dry stay so not an issue for us. Could do with some more and a sink or hand sanitizer. Cost £2 per dog but not sure why, had to be on lead entire time due to livestock (absolutely fair enough) but seemed an odd thing to charge extra for. Not a dislike but it would be useful to have a phone number at the entrance, I wasn’t sure where/how to check in or pay and ended up booking on pitch up when I got there as forgot to bring cash. A site map would be useful on booking the reviews mentioned a bar etc but wasn’t sure where to find this

A aimé : Spacious field. Clean loos. Friendly family. Next to lovely river side walk.

A aimé : everything about the place is amazing

A aimé : The people were nice and friendly. The bar offered cheap drinks and there was lice music on the weekend we were there which was a ncie touch. There were cute animals to look at also. The toilets were clean but basic (still under construction we think).

N'a pas aimé: The mud but this couldn't be helped. They had a tractor to pull out any stuck vehicles.

A aimé : A great location with beautiful views and great walks along the dales way. A short walk into the town which has plenty of pubs, restaurants and cafes. There was live music in the barn in the evening which was a good surprise and the barn as well as being somewhere to shelter, sold breakfast buns and tea and coffee, there was also a bar in the evening. Staff were super friendly and the owner offered to drop us off so we could walk back.

N'a pas aimé: The toilet block was still under construction and as a result was rather basic with no hand washing facilities, however there was also portaloos dotted around the site which did have hand sanitiser.

A aimé : Very friendly attentive staff, best welcome to a campsite/working farm ever. Nothing was too much trouble, including towing us off the field due to poor weather conditions. Great experience seeing the young calf and baby lambs. Working dogs and horses. Beautiful river walks from the campsite. Excellent food and drinks.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Free showers Free live music every night of the bank holiday Free use of the barn and patio heaters to dry clothing out and shelter from the rain £2 for a glass of wine £2 for a beer £6 for home cooked, Galloway Steak Casserole £8 for home cooked chicken curry No limit on rubbish disposed free Free tow for anyone who got stuck We base our menus and pricing on what our customers ask for - the options we offered obviously didn't suit you, but I hope you enjoyed the alternative options in Sedbergh town (a 5 minute walk)......as explained in your welcome pack (also free) ......quite ironic that by far the most feedback from our customers is that we should increase prices, particularly in the bar as they are disproportionately low compared to comparable campsites.
