If your dog needs a break as much as you do, then Gumburn Leisure Park could well be the place to make that happen. This Worcestershire site doesn’t accept kids, but the team are more than happy to welcome four-legged family members, who can have a good stretch at the safe dog-walking area and a cleanup using the outside tap if needed. This is a small site, with only a handful of pitches, so it’s a very peaceful setup. Its small stature doesn’t mean a lack of facilities, however: guests have access to showers, toilets, a washing-up area and waste disposal, plus a kettle for easy brews (and sometimes you’ll also find the owners popping round with fresh free-range eggs if you want to buy any…) The site’s grass pitches are within the grounds of a 75-acre family-run sheep farm, where you can sit and gaze out over the farmland. There are lots of quiet roads and paths to roam along nearby, and it’s about a 25-minute drive to more trails in the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For a change of scenery, take the 25-minute drive to Worcester for shops, restaurants and a visit to the cathedral. For eats closer to home, guests can take a five-minute stroll to the village's pet-friendly country pub, which serves a range of alcoholic and soft drinks, wholesome pub grub, coffees and hot chocolates. It's open daily, with food served between 12pm and 8pm and a beer garden or indoor area with an open fire. There’s also a fish and chip van in the neighbouring village every Saturday night, or you can take the 10-minute drive to Ombersley for restaurants and pubs (one of which has a Michelin star, no less…) If you’d rather stick to self catering, stock up at the local farm shops, butchers and veg shops, then light up a barbecue by your pitch.

Ce petit camping réservé aux adultes est apprécié pour son ambiance paisible et ses excellentes installations impeccables (WC, douches, vaisselle). Les emplacements sont spacieux, plats, avec électricité. Les propriétaires sont amicaux et accueillants. Le site rural offre de belles vues et des promenades, avec un pub à proximité. Le WiFi est parfois capricieux.

A aimé This is a charming, very small site with just 5 pitches. The welcome is warm and you have some rather lovely neighbours in the form of ducks, sheep and horses. The site is well maintained and although the toilet block has perhaps seen better days….. it is clean, the water is hot and for the amount of pitches there are plenty of facilities. There is a nice little spot to walk the doggos for toilet breaks and a hose pipe where you can clean….. or in our case…. Cool them down on a hot summers day.

N'a pas aimé The WiFi is SPOTTY…. This didn’t impact us much as we downloaded programs to watch offline for the evenings so it wasn’t too much of an issue. I would say in the hotter weather to AVOID tent camping with dogs….. it gets HOT and there is absolutely no shade on the pitches!! However for campers with aircon this wouldn’t be an issue. The information hit was a bit forgotten about and HEAVILY guarded by some rather brutish looking spiders! 😂 also it would have been nice to be able to see more of the beautiful scenery on the site by perhaps trimming the hedges down a little.

A aimé Gumburn is in a great location nr Worcester, and a village with a good pub. The site itself is very well setup. Has very clean and ample toilet and shower block. Laura and Nicki were very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

A aimé Small but perfectly formed. A lovely quiet site with only 5 pitches. Absolutely loved the peace and quiet, owners grand daughter came and offered us fresh eggs for breakfast. Pub 10 lin walk away with good value pub grub. Would definately return

A aimé Lovely small site 5 good sized pitches with electric. Nice facilities 2 toilets 1 shower and a wash up shelter. Plenty for the 5 adult only pitches. Good dog walk. 5 minute stroll to an excellent pub with great food and beer. Will definitely be back.

Walking boots at the ready… the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (25 minutes’ drive) has some spectacular landscapes, including the Beacon Loop from Great Malvern, the Millennium Hill loop or North Hill. While nature takes some of the glory around these parts – as it rightly should – there's also a range of historical properties that are equally as spectacular. One is the birthplace of the composer Sir Edward Elgar, named The Firs (10 minutes' drive) and a lovely place for a stroll in the cottage gardens. Witley Court and Gardens (15 minutes), where fashionable people once partied, is now an excellent patch for woodland walks or garden strolls, and there are Spetchley Park Gardens (25 minutes) and Priory Park gardens (half an hour) for more of that sort of stuff. If you’d rather spend an afternoon sipping on the fine stuff and touring a vineyard, head to Astley Vineyard (15 minutes). Alternatively, plan ahead and find yourself an event at the Three Counties Showground (35 minutes).
