Camping at The Hollies

A aimé Really nice location. The views are beautiful looking out to the roaches. There are walks straight from site, tho the cars can come pretty fast down the lane you aren't on it for long before coming to the footpath. Woodfired pizza served in the evening and breakfast in the morning. Would stay again

We hear you on the distance and queues from the back field — it’s something we’re keeping an eye on as the site gets busier. The phone signal can be patchy depending on provider, though for some that’s part of the charm!

A aimé It was a lovely campsite, about 4 miles from Lud’s church and the roaches you can see from the site. Facility’s were great hot showers u need a £1 coin for but they’re really good. Toilets clean, there’s a pizza van on site too which was great. Really enjoyed our stay here would definitely recommend

A aimé Lovely site, lots of pitches, liked the pitch where you please and the owners come round at some point of your 1st night and check you in, very easy!

A aimé Didn't explore the whole camp site, so can only say what I liked about the field I was in. That was the toilets and the fire wood.

N'a pas aimé Lots of hornets or wasps when we stayed. Was a bit of a nightmare. People also didn't keep to the 10pm quiet time. I'm probably being a bit of a Karen here. But people were not respectful of that, I had a terrible sleep and so did my 6 year old.

We understand how frustrating noise and insects can be, especially when camping with young children. Our quiet hours are clearly posted, and we have a night warden on duty from 10pm to 2am specifically to handle any disturbances. Had we known at the time, we would have been happy to assist and help ensure a quieter night for your family. My number is on the large sign at the main entrance so I can be notified of any noise complaints.

Regarding the hornets or wasps, this can occasionally happen in rural outdoor settings, especially in warmer months. We do monitor this closely and take action when nests are spotted nearby, so we always encourage guests to let us know if there's an issue during their stay.

We're glad you liked the toilets and firewood, and we hope you might return and experience more of the site in the future under better circumstances. We're always happy to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

A aimé A large site with three separate fields. Excellent views over the Roaches and a good starting point for many interesting walks. Several pubs also within walking distance, especially impressed with the Lazy Trout with well priced beer and food. I wish every country pub was like it.
Washing and toilet facilities were sufficient. No complaints for the price paid.

N'a pas aimé If I were a female camper I'd probably prefer separate female toilets. Lots of well behaved dogs on site, which is great: but one barked uncontrollably and ignored their owners. If your dog is like this, don't inflict it on everyone else. It's not nice at 06:30 being woken up by barking outside your tent, then the owner remonstrating with the dog. Not the site's owners fault, obviously.

A aimé Being able to park anywhere. Pizza van on site in little wooded area. Nice no frills camp site. Lovely views of The Roaches hills. Near to reservoir visitor centre and watersports (less than 5 min drive) Great pub 5 min walk away.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear you had trouble locating the bins during your stay. Just to clarify, we do have three commercial bins located by the entrance/exit for guest use — we’ll look at adding clearer signage to avoid any confusion in future.
