No me gustó We happened to be pitched near the cess pit which was a bit stinky in the hot weather but that was just our bad luck

Me gustó Once lockdown was lifted and we decided to get away, we had to choose from one of the many sites that we've stayed at before (or a new one) and, having stayed at Stable Fell before about 3 years and loved it then, chose to return to Yorkshire. It would be fair to say that we did not regret our decision! The campsite is just as we remember it i.e. beautiful, the views from the site are just stunning! Perfect for just sitting and chilling and it's the perfect base for walking or cycling (not in our case though!) as there are loads of paths and trails right on he doorstep. The new owners have made the pitches bigger (permanently I believe) so there is loads of space and a firepit with each pitch which is great for sitting up all night staring up at the stars, as we did! There's the added bonus of barn owls putting on a show each evening which was lovely to watch, we counted 4 on our last night. The icing on the cake however were the new owners Jo and Mark who were absolutely lovely, going way above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy! Jo offered to go shopping for us when our car was out of action and took the young couple pitched next to us (who's car was even more out of action than ours) into town so they could hire some bikes and made sure that they had recovery and everything sorted! She also made sure she was on hand on our departure day to give us a jump start if needed, which, gladly we didn't. I very rarely give good reviews on sites that we love in the hope that they don't get too busy but in this case, as the owners were just so nice I just had too. They've obviously had a difficult start to campsite running having taken over at Christmas but I'm absolutely sure that they'll be a huge success and we will definitely be back!

Me gustó It was a great site in a beautiful location with plenty of space. The owners, Guy and Aly were extremely friendly/helpful and to be able to relax around an open campfire at the end of the day is always a bonus these days. Easily one of the best sites we've stayed at.
