Me gustó I stayed for one night and was lucky enough to have the entire campsite all to myself. It was incredibly quiet, peaceful and the perfect place to switch off and enjoy nature. The toilets and showers were clean (with plenty of hot water, which made the stay even more comfortable) Because of the dry weather, the grass and ground were very dry and a little uneven, but it wasn't an issue for my small tent. In the morning, Matt, the owner, came over to say hello and check that everything had been okay, which was a really lovely touch and made me feel very welcome. I spent a truly relaxing night, far away from everything, surrounded by nature. The sunset was beautiful, and waking up to an amazing sunrise made the experience even more special.

Me gustó I had an amazing 2-night solo stay at Hollym Campsite. Everything was perfect from start to finish! The campsite was easy to find with plenty of spacious pitches to choose from. The coded barrier at the entrance made me feel safe and secure throughout the stay. The toilets and showers were spotless and clearly very well looked after. The whole site was peaceful and everyone staying was respectful, making it a really relaxing place to unwind. The highlight was waking up to the most breathtaking sunrise, visible right from my tent!

Me gustó Really enjoyed my stay at Newfold. The site is really well equipped, with a café-restaurant, shop, and brand-new toilets, all kept to a high standard. The views are absolutely stunning! Check-in was super straightforward, and I liked being able to choose my own pitch. I stayed during a heatwave, so understandably the shaded spots were already taken, but I still managed to find a decent space for myself. There are also plenty of walks straight from the site, which is a big plus if you like exploring without having to drive anywhere.

No me gustó On the downside (and this is more down to luck than the site itself), I had a night with a large DoE group on same pitch, and then- the next night ended up with just three people who managed to be far noisier than those 40 kids :) Funny how that works out sometimes - definitely just my bad camping luck rather than anything the site did wrong. And Wi-fi only worked around main building and first two sites, not where my tent was (Grouse). Had no signal at all - but that wasn't a big issue

Me gustó I recently spent a night at Ponden Mill Campsite and, honestly, if I could give it 15/10, I would! It’s one of the best campsites I’ve stayed at. I had the perfect pitch right next to the little stream, which made the stay incredibly peaceful and relaxing. The surroundings are beautiful, the site is well maintained, and the facilities were clean and had everything I needed. What really stood out was the atmosphere - quiet, friendly, and surrounded by stunning countryside. It felt like the perfect escape from everyday life. I only stayed for one night, but I wish I could have stayed longer. I’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful camping experience.

Me gustó I booked Mountain Edge Pods for the bank holiday weekend and enjoyed the stay. The pods themselves were lovely and set in a nice forested area - the whole site is very well maintained. At night it was quiet and peaceful, which made it a really relaxing stay. There are a couple of steps to get from the car park to the pods with all the camping stuff, but it wasn’t a big issue for us. Facilities were fine - just showers pretty basic, but okay for a one-night stay.

No me gustó The pods could do with a little more privacy between them (no.1 and 2), especially when people are having BBQ, we felt bad as the all the smoke went directly to the couple's pod next to ours The check-in process wasn't the best. Everything is handled at the busy restaurant by one person, which meant quite a long wait.

Me gustó The location of this campsite was really good - set on a quiet farm field away from the main road, quite peaceful at night (just campers next to us were bit loud till late hours). We stayed in a bell tent which was great value for money and cleaned inside. With some candles and plenty of cushions we brought along, it felt really cosy and homely. That said, there are a few things that could make the experience even better, which I highlight in disliked section. Generally speaking, it’s a site with potential, and with a bit more attention to facilities and upkeep, it could be a really great place to stay (I'm saying that comparing to the other sites I've stayed at this year)

No me gustó There were only two portaloo toilets for the whole site, and unfortunately they weren’t very clean during our stay. For one night stay - we managed, but I can't imagine use them while camping more days... The shower area was completely dark (and not clean either), even in the daytime, so a torch is essential. The farm surroundings looked a little neglected, with all dried plants and general mess, which gave us the impression – despite the site being new on Pitchup – that it wasn’t being kept on top of, or owners simply gave up.. We visited mid-season, but it felt more like the end of October in terms of upkeep. My daughter was hoping to see some farm animals, but we weren’t sure if visitors were allowed in certain areas as there was no one around in the farm shop to ask. Also, while the site is fairly large, the bell tents are pitched so close together, so a little more space for privacy would be a big improvement (especially when campers having inflatable pools for kids)

Me gustó Absolutely stunning campsite! The views were breath-taking, with plenty of open space for tents and a private atmosphere (I loved the meadow around us). The facilities were great: spotless toilets, a well-equipped kitchen area, and even an honesty shop for those little things you might have forgotten. Everything on the campsite was so well maintained, and the fellow campers seemed nice and respectful (really quiet at night). And the night sky… WOW, I’ve never seen so many stars in my life – truly magical!

Me gustó Lovely farm in a peaceful location. It was my first solo camping trip, and on arrival, I was told I would have the whole woodland area to myself, quite far from the main buildings and owners. This was exactly what I was looking for. However, after returning from a walk, I found that two other campers had arrived and would also be staying in the woods. I generally don’t mind sharing space, but these two men were very loud, speaking foreign language, and as it got dark, I started to feel anxious and unsafe. The internet connection was unreliable, and I was unable to contact anyone for reassurance. Throughout the night, the men were walking back and forth with torches until around 3 am, and I felt too scared to leave my tent, especially as the site was completely dark and the toilet area had no working lights. I did not sleep at all that night, and it completely ruined what was meant to be a peaceful first solo camping experience. This site could be perfect for solo campers if you truly have the place to yourself or if the area is busy with other families or groups, but being alone in the forest with two drunk strangers was frightening for me. Sadly, it has put me off solo camping in the future, which is a shame, as the farm itself is lovely.

Me gustó We had such a lovely time at Mandale Campsite. Pitches are large and well spaced out, you can choose your own perfect spot. The grass is beautifully cut and soft, and the trees around the site provide plenty of shade on a hot day. Everything is really well maintained, from the grounds to the facilities. The views over the valley are absolutely stunning, sunrise was truly magical! The site is very peaceful and quiet at night, which made us feel safe and relaxed throughout our stay. Facilities are exactly as they should be: toilets were clean, stocked with toilet paper and soap, and the washing area even includes a fridge – super handy. We’re already looking forward to booking our next stay.

No me gustó Wi-fi is not the best, but is a rural area, so that's understandable and didn't bother us at all
