If your main requirement for a place to stay in Powys is a peaceful spot with lovely green scenery all around, Carmel Caravan Park could well be the place for you. This place is rural and remote, with rather wonderful views of the hills all around – just the spot for a proper countryside chill-out. There’s a pub about five minutes’ drive away in the village of Cefn Coch, but that’s about it for local facilities; for shops, places to eat and other urban amenities you’ll need to head to Welshpool, about 25 minutes away. There are plenty of practical facilities on site, though – including a launderette, washing-up areas and a guest fridge-freezer, plus a smart modern bathroom block with accessible facilities and underfloor heating to keep your toes warm. In such a thoroughly rural setting you’ll really be able to throw yourselves into farming life if you want to. This is a family-run site where the owners have been offering a warm welcome for more than 60 years – and these days that includes offering guests the chance to help out with the everyday running of the place through things like lamb feeding in spring. Even if you don’t choose to get stuck in, you’ll no doubt want to say hello to the farm’s friendly pet sheep; they’re amenable to being taken for a walk too. For other countryside pursuits, there’s coarse and fly fishing available on site, and plenty of places to get out for walks nearby. Back on site, there’s a playground for the kids and a secure dog run where four-legged guests can get the zoomies out of their system.

Me gustó Absolutely incredible site, the owner is the most incredibly kind woman ive ever had pleasure of meeting she is so informative very welcoming. The site is very clean, well kept and a lovely place, the facilities on site again are extremely well kept very tidy and well decorated. I will Absolutely be returning my sons (6) (12) had the best few days and felt safe.

Me gustó Very well kept, clean and tidy, grass nice length.
Toilets and showers spotless
Great to have a washer and dryer if needed
Kids enjoyed the play area and dog enjoyed his secure area too.
Fishing too, kids fish for free. Adults only £6 per rod per day. Plenty of small lakes to choose from.
Sharon was very helpful and friendly and always working hard around the site. Great with the kids too.

No me gustó Missing a little shop for essentials, eggs milk tinned things maybe some camping bits? as nearest shop is 20min drive away

Me gustó Gorgeous setting, super friendly staff. We saw Sharon everyday making us feel welcome and making sure the toilets were spotless. Great showers too

No me gustó Only very specific to us but the park isn’t where the tent was, it is only a very very short walk away and up some steps it just meant that our kids couldn’t go by themselves. The bonus is there are two very cute donkeys, a Shetland pony and loads of sheep to look at when you’re there

Me gustó Very clean site all facilities kept spotless. Very spacious for the kids to run and have fun. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. They go above and beyond to help with anything they can. Staff regularly come around to make sure everything is ok and if there is anything they can help with. Kids loved the fishing pond and seeing the donkeys and pony. Would definitely be returning to this camp site. I can’t thank the owners enough and forever grateful for all their help

Me gustó Waking up to a lovely view. Star gazing at night, clean toilet and shower facilities. Park for the children was ok for younger children but not for teenagers. Nothing for teenagers to do on site. No ball games allowed.

No me gustó Mixed messages and communication from all staff. Some of the staff unfriendly and rude.
One day the kids and adults went finishing was made to pay, the next day was told the kids did not need to pay and was not offered a refund.
You have to pay for WIFI per device which was not great there is an option to pay via pay pal but with having no signal was unable to verify the payment. I would suggest a free 30 minutes to be able to verify payments.
Rules are misleading, as it seems to be one rule for one but not the other.
It states on the description that you could help with farming activities that the children were looking forward to but this was also none existent.
I feel that the description of this campsite needs to be reviewed.
