Arth Valley Retreat

Me gustó What a Gem! We booked here (fenced, non electric pitch) for 2 nights as a taster into camping as was our first time. And what a great time we had. The site is absolutely fantastic, facilities are exceptional- clean toilet & shower blocks, with warm showers! The addition of a kitchen with a fridge to store your cool items, a microwave, kettle and toaster with an array of crockery and utensils really handy should you have forgotten anything. Excellent play area for children and the animals to feed and pet was all a lovely bonus. We happened to catch their Pizza night too, where they offered everyone fresh wood fired pizzas, which were absolutely delicious. Kids are already asking to go back. Thank you so much Arth Valley, and to the owners who were so friendly and welcoming.

Me gustó Wow! The facilities, the owners, the atmosphere were great.

Everything was kept clean, the kitchen was well stocked and the owners were knowledgeable about the area.

We used the pizza oven, did the walk to the waterfall after staff recommended and had the opportunity to see the animals.

Me gustó Small campsite with lovely little playground, shower and toilets blocks, outdoor kitchen, small seating area for campfire to roast your marshmallows, chicken coop. Beautiful views of the sea and the countryside and hills. There is an honesty box for goat/sheep food and chicken eggs - very cute! The team are super nice and extremely helpful.

No me gustó Didn’t see the shower/toilet blocks cleaned at all whilst we were there, and they were muddy and full of grass. The shower is very compact and you spray the entire room if the shower door isn’t closed properly. Kitchen is very bijou and crammed so a bit difficult to use. The location can’t be helped but you have to drive to the town or shops as you are based at the top of a very long and very steep hill. You can’t get anything delivered either as internet is very limited - it needs wifi somehow if that’s even possible?

Me gustó Lovely friendly site. Beautiful countryside and sea views.
Hens and Pygmy goats who were very tame and nosy!
Communal seating and fire pit, little shop and fridge, freezer, microwave and toaster available.

Me gustó Amazing views and not over crowded at all. Limited spaces which is nice.
Host very easy to contact and happy to help.
Loads of space to explore within farm, Waterfall at the very bottom is amazing.
Toilets and showers spot on.

No me gustó Toilet doors slightly tight and difficult for younger ones.

Me gustó Staff were friendly and our toddler loved the farm vehicles backing and towing and one morning we even woke up to some goats on the field near us! Facilities were good and the communal kitchen area was a kind touch. We opted for the gated pitch which was ideal as our dog gets nervous and can be a bit barkyso she felt safe in the pitch. Lovely stay

No me gustó We booked a fenced in pitch, because we have a slightly reactive dog. The only two fenced pitches are next to each other - would be better if they were apart - as our neighbours also had a reactive dog, that they felt ok to just leave off lead wandering the campsite.....

Me gustó Excellent site, quiet ...nothing was too much for the host family.Very clean facilities with cooking /washing up area. Will recommend to friends,but really want to keep it a secret.......
