Really peaceful

Level gravel pitch with water and waste. However anybody who can’t reverse there caravan will struggle as it is up a gravel incline to the top of the pitch. I think a motor mover would struggle. Nice location. It’s probably 20 -30 minutes walk to the nearest pub going either left or right as you leave site. This will be a beautiful site when completed in approx 3 years (according to the lady owner) who is lovely by the way

As most other reviews the male toilet and shower (yes that’s right only one of each) are not fit for purpose, can’t comment on the ladies luckily I use my caravan not so lucky for the campers. I understand they are building the site up but they need to prioritise on a new shower block instead of working on extra pitches, if they do this then the poor reviews will stop and customers won’t mind paying the inflated prices they are charging at the moment £35.00 per night for the pitch I was on. I think one toilet is below the legal limit for so many guests. Bins overflowing so had to leave my bag of rubbish on the floor next to them. The continued work opposite the site on the river is expected to continue for the next 5 years so you do get some noise from that. No Wi-Fi is offered. The high hermatiage is a brilliant place to stay, the kids aged 5 to 12 loved every minute!. The site wardens are very nice people having good conversations and willing to help at all times. The pitch we had was situated really close to toilets and shower blocks and the dish Wasing area. This aloud our children the freedom to use the facilities with us staying on the pitch. All guest were lovely and the place was clean!

The spontaneous visits local animal life.

The grass "pitch" was just a recently dug up field that was bogged with water and had no drainage, so when it came to us leaving for our days activities, we were stuck and unable to drive ourselves out of the pitch, putting a huge delay on our day. This happened on two separate days in two different pitches. There was a static caravan abandoned on the road in front of a lot of the pitches, forcing us to drive up onto the path and grass, ripping up the turf as we did so.

The site was nowhere near as clean or quiet as advertised, as half the site was a construction site, and the water board was across the road, hammering pipes down under the road on a daily basis.

The site warden was initially unhelpful and would only move us out of the bog after we had called the owner to try and sort something out.

Good fully serviced pitch on a quiet site wide entrance and good access road.

Weather was terrible but still enjoyed our stay

We enjoyed our stay despite the bad weather. It was clean, friendly staff.

Only one shower in each male and female toilet block.

I think the location if you want to visit Newcastle on the train is ideal

But can see that there’s plans for new facilities in the pipeline

Clean, quiet, friendly site. Although it’s still a work in progress, you can see it is going to be fantastic when finished!Large pitches with easy, close access to service points. Great if you’re looking for a chilled break, with so many places to visit just a short drive away.

Although very clean & tidy, toilet & shower facilities feel dated. Sure this will be addressed with all the upgrading that is taking place though.
