Nice location for visiting Beanish and Hadrians Wall. Nice quiet site, pitches were large. Gorden was extremely helpful and friendly. Kept an eye on us and help hitch the trailer tent up. Good with the kids.

Friendly warden ,large gravel all service pitches.

Toilet block is outdated and down steep steps. No good for the disabled. Part of the site is rubble strewn but has now been taken over by another company so hopefully in the future there will be lots of improvements.
Being in a foreign made motorhome, I would have preferred to have driven on the pitch forwards so the amenities are on the same side as my van but I was asked to reverse on the pitch.
No dog walk.

The site was kept nice and staff were friendly and helpful, especially with taking the time to talk to my little boy.

The toilets seemed quite out dates making them feel dirty.
Also there was only one sink to wash up at, and that wasn’t clean.

The position of the site is quite reasonable but walking to the shops, only a short distance away meant walking on a main road without public footpath.

The facilities were minimal but we were in a caravan so not so noticeable, however the rest of the family were in tents, necessarily on sloping pitches and the hike between caravan and tents was over a quagmire, mainly due to plenty of rain and a distinct lack of drainage, also the use of the pitches by large motorhomes. The source of midges, a trench running along in front of the top wall, was too deep to dry up.

The most flat and level pitch I think I have ever stayed on! We were met by Gordon who showed us to our pitch and explained where everything was, lovely welcome from him.

Its quite a basic site, but everything works as it should and was clean. The site was nice and quiet and worked for us from a location point of view as we were doing a tour of the north east.

Fab location, peaceful, friendly helpful warden

I wonder when campsites will charge less for solo traveller? Why should single charge be same as double? Unfair. £30 for one person, with rather simple “facilities” seems expensive, outside school holidays too.
Maybe one day folk will pay extra for yappy dogs

Lovely break away with my partner and our dogs. The host was really welcoming and so friendly. Lovely surroundings and some nice pubs. Would happily return
