Twelve Oaks Farm Caravan Park is a quiet family-friendly park set on a working farm around 10 minutes' drive from the historic market town of Newton Abbot. It's within walking distance of the Templer Way heritage trail and a huge country park, as well as a flat and family-friendly cycling trail through woodlands and around lakes to Dartmoor National Park. The outdoor pool is always warm as it's heated by the site's biomass heating system, and there's a fishing lake within walking distance of all pitches. The site also has a small play area to keep the kids entertained. The dishwashing and laundry facilities are housed within the award-winning heated toilet and shower block. Twelve Oaks Farm Caravan Park is easily accessible from the main roads that run either side of Newton Abbot, making the park well placed for shopping trips and evenings out to Torbay, Exeter and Plymouth.

What customers say

Twelve Oaks is well-kept, clean, with friendly staff. Facilities, especially the award-winning loos and showers, are praised for being spotless and modern. The heated pool's a hit with families. Pitches are usually big. WiFi can be a bit spotty and the ANPR gate sometimes plays up, but issues are sorted quick. It’s peaceful with easy access to local sights.

Liked Great family venue - good sized pitch and our request to put us next to family was not a problem. We loved swimming. The playground was varied, spacious and well maintained. Really good range of stock available in the shop and everyone was really friendly. Nice to be on a working farm!

Disliked These are genuine suggestions and not complaints.

It would be great to know what time the shop opens and closes each day, even it changes from day to day - could you advertise this a little better?

Please could you consider getting a defibrillator? This could well save a life!

I tried the WiFi for the free hour but it was unreliable in that time, even when I was in the shop area. If it was reliable and quick then I may well have paid for longer access.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Great outdoor swimming pool the children loved it and actually was heated.

The site isn’t too big so not far to walk to and from different areas.

The plots are a good size have plenty of space either side.

The cows and chickens were lovely to go and look at.

Clean showers and toilets.

Park was great for the children too.

Lovely quiet beach at Teignmouth only a 15-20 min drive

Great campsite will return

Disliked The shop staying open slightly later in busy periods would be helpful but I understand that staff may not want to

Onsite cafe just chose what to charge on the day it felt like, the children had a milkshake on the Monday that were £4 each and on the Friday was charged £5 each for the exact same thing.

The description said that walking distance was a flat family friendly bike trail, however just be aware you have to all ride down very small lanes with oncoming traffic both ways for about 8 mins before coming to this trail, very scary with the children.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Swimming pool is a great addition in a hot summer.
Dog exercising area.
Facilities were generally well kept and clean.
Kids play area was good.

Disliked Only one facilities block, although it’s not the biggest campsite, it is a bit of a trek if you need the toilet in the night, have kids etc.
No trees for shade, made it very hot during the day.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Loved this small campsite. Plenty of space on the pitches. Welcoming staff. Great little onsite shop. Small pool perfect for cooling down in during hot weather. Well maintained too. Toilets and showers super clean. Quiet location.

Disliked Distance to shower block from our pitch so would ask for somewhere a little closer next time (just for ease with small children).

Local attractions

The site's fishing lake is well stocked with carp – just ask for Jim and he'll tell you all their names... Twelve Oaks Farm Caravan Park also lies halfway along the Templer Way Heritage Trail, a walking route that uses a mixture of rights of way, permissive routes and minor roads to link the seaside town of Teignmouth to Haytor on Dartmoor. The Stover Canal, which was once used to transport granite from the moors to the harbour, is also a short stroll from the park. The woodland, grassland, heathland, marsh and lake areas of the 114-acre Stover Country Park, designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest, is half an hour's walk away. The park has a visitor centre, an aerial walkway, a bird hide and picnic areas. Also running through the country park is the Stover Trail – a traffic-free cycling route that connects Newton Abbot to Bovey Tracey, extending towards Lustleigh and Moretonhampstead in Dartmoor National Park.
