What customers say

Great spot by the beach, with super friendly staff. Facilities are decent, especially for families, though some loos and showers are a bit worn. Can get busy with some noise, but most would come back!

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (no pets)

Liked The crusades pool was great. Prefect for kids with a large water flume (for 1m and over) and several smaller slides for younger ones.

Location for the beach is about as close as you can get.

The evening entertainment was also good for kids.

Disliked My biggest gripe is that there are not enough toilets/ showers, or attendants to maintain them! For a hundreds of people staying in tents and caravans there is a total of 10 womens toilets and 8 showers!! Toilet roll was always low or had run out and hand soap often the same, and when toilets were dirty they would stay like it most of the day. At busy times, mornings and early evenings you have to queue for a shower.

Although the swimming pool is great, it was completely booked up before we even arrived as they allow booking 3 days in advance. They allow an amount of walk ins for each session but you have to get there and queue 30 mins+ before hand. We saw several people turn up with their children ready for a swim sadly get turned away. Most holidays parks who have a popular and busy pool don't open booking until the morning each day, this would allow fair access for people arriving at different times through the week.

The evening entertainment was okay, good for children with the usual games and disco but facilities felt run down and main event entertainment didn't suit the audience.

There was a festival on in the field next to us for 2 nights with EXTREMELY loud marine life videos playing a mixture loud sound effects, conversation and music. This went on until 11pm keeping all of the children awake. It was so loud for us we had to raise our voices just to be able to hear eachother speak! Forewarning about this when booking would have been appreciated!

Croyde Burrows electric grass touring pitch

Liked Great location, will defiantly be returning.

Disliked The only thing i could say was the touring pitch toilet are very tired, but the lady cleaning them did a great job. The pre- booking of the swimming pool is a good idea, but the amount of people that booked and didn't turn up because it was a nice day and went to beach stopping people using the pool.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (no pets)

Liked Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly member of staff who explained where our pitch was and the amenities available.

We were given a pitch which we couldn't have chosen better. We overlooked the coastline. Throughout our holiday, we became friends with all the families in our corner of the site. The children all played together. We felt very lucky to have been pitched in such a beautiful setting.

The site was level, clean and offered a host of activities for rainy days.

I highly recommend Ruda Holiday Park and would not hesitate to book further annual family holidays.

Disliked Sadly, sometimes it was challenging to find a clean toilet with toilet roll (so be prepared and take your own toilet roll).

Taw electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (no pets)

Liked Location is awesome so near the ocean. We enjoyed our stay so very much.

Disliked The campsite is generally good but the toilets and showers are dated and often a bit unclean. No excuse for leaving weeks of spiderwebs and dust on window sills in the shower block.

Local attractions

Don’t miss the chance to explore the Devonshire coastline surrounding Ruda Holiday Park. Recommendations include a walk to the headland at Baggy Point where you’ll be rewarded with outstanding views; a saunter along spectacular Saunton Sands, and a delve into the dunes at Braunton Burrows. Croyde is a perfectly pretty village of thatched cottages, tearooms, pubs, restaurants, cafés and (but of course) surf shops. There are umpteen visitor attractions in the area, particularly for animal enthusiasts, who can come face to face with life-sized model dinosaurs and a host of their living, breathing descendants at Combe Martin Wildlife Park; practise their trout pouts on some fishy friends at Ilfracombe’s aquarium; or get hands on with the animals at the Big Sheep, the area’s most eccentric day out: sheep racing and stunt ducks, anyone…?
