Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (maximum 8 metres)

Liked View, but this has nothing to do with the site management. They’re lucky they have it!

Disliked Staff, (got the feeling her was an inconvenience ) pitches, (gave us one cramped with people when we asked for a view if possible) all view pitches were empty! Lorry woke us up at 7! Reversing and doing god knows what

Electric grass pitch (maximum 6 metres)

Liked Great pitch size, level and location. Wash room very clean tidy and spacious . Great evening entertainment for all ages. Lovely clean and tidy site.

Disliked Unsafe walk to bus stop. Have to walk down single track lane. Can be very busy at times. Bus service only every 2 hours.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Good location for a coastal walk to Looe or Polperro, clean facilities and a nice view. The food onsite was good quality.

Disliked I have never left an unfavourable review but this really did spoil or stay.

Facilities - We paid over £40 per night for a non electric pitch (which was discounted via pitch up) but thought would be fair due to the facilities including the pool. Unfortunately the pool, area around the pool and changing rooms were tired and dirty.

Non electric pitch - There were lots still available and the staff did show us where the available non electric pitches were we could swap to, but none of the non electric pitches were flat. I would have been happy to pay an additional fee to move, we asked if we could swap to a flat pitch (loads available) one right in front of the one we were allocated - the cost was an extra £30 per night!! To be fair, these were electric grass pitches (we don’t need/ use electric hook up as we have solar power) but an extra £30 per night is silly. The staff did advise us of the nearest trago mills shop (20 minutes drive away) but they did not have levelling chocks, So we found some breeze blocks on the site and made the best of it….2 uncomfortable nights sleep at an angle. In 3 years travelling in a camper all over the UK I have not had to use levelling chocks (lesson learned and now purchased) but we never had a site refuse to accommodate a move where it was at all possible. It would also be helpful if it mentioned you may be on a slope on the information/ booking site and if the campsite shop sold levelling chucks.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked The campsite was really well located and for the price they provide a lot of facilities. All the staff were helpful and friendly and the camping pitch was well sized.
The kids enjoyed the disco and play park. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning again.

Disliked The pool wasn’t the cleanest and some facilities had a lot of equipment out of order. The food was also a bit hit or miss in terms of quality.

Local attractions

Oodles of activities and attractions await once you’ve dragged yourself off site: pootle around Looe’s Harbour Quay, Banjo Pier and the 16th-century Old Guildhall in East Looe, or take a boat to Looe (St George’s) Island, where just once a year on a very low tide it’s possible to stroll to it across the sand. Sea-based sightseers can go from Looe to Fowey and take the ferry to Polruan or Bodinnick and the former house of Daphne du Maurier (Daphne and Rebecca fans can also go ghost hunting at Cornwall’s legendary coaching house at Bodmin Moor, said to be the county’s most famous smuggling inn). Most day trippers take a car for the 12-mile Looe-Fowey journey, but if you’re feeling energetic enough and want to see some stunning coastal scenery, the local South West Coast Path hike goes from West Looe to Polruan via Hannafore, Talland Bay and Polperro. You officially have full permission to get a bus or taxi back…
