General

  • Peaceful site surrounded by lakes, on the edge of the New Forest
  • Activities including high ropes, climbing and abseiling
  • Play area, tennis, bouldering walls and café

Set up camp for a night or several at Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre in the New Forest, for guaranteed busy days among a wide range of forest adventures.

For among the outdoor adventures and field study activities here, you can try high and low ropes, climbing and abseiling, archery, zipwire and heaps more under the eyes of its experienced instructors – or take yourself off under your own guidance for orienteering, treasure hunting, mountain biking and fishing in its lush surrounding lakes....

Happily, a café serving the likes of jacket potatoes, paninis etc is here too so that adventurers don't have far to forage when it comes to light bites, and if you need a day off from all the action the site also has a play area and free wifi. (A tennis court and bouldering walls are around too if you really can't help yourself...)

The Avon Tyrrell amenities block is well equipped with toilets, hot showers, a baby-changing room, washing-up facilities and a launderette. A small shop is to hand for basic supplies, but both Bransgore and Burley are only two miles away if you need anything else – maybe see how fast you can run there and back...?

Please note

Facilities/activities including climbing, kayaking, high ropes and archery are subject to extra charges payable on arrival.

Dogs are not allowed in the on-site accommodations.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Tent was clean and spacious. The camping area was in a good location. We like the fact we had a fridge and electrical outlet and table area. It rained like mad and the winds howled but my daughter and her friends enjoyed it. The main toilet facilities and shower was clean however was confused as it was a joint male/female facility.

    Disliked:

Covered eating and prep area: I noticed that the prep area was not clean nor hygienic. I believe for hygienic purposes prep area material should be made of stainless steel or concrete surface not wood. We also believe that if tents have been booked the covered area closest to be used by campers should be swept , sprayed clean of webs and critters as kids like mine are terrified of spiders and didn’t want to stick around to have their meals.
The Eco toilet too was a similar issue
