A lovely place to stay and we would not hesitate to return.

Aug 2026

Liked Everything. We got a warm and friendly welcome, our pitch was great - very spacious (they all were). The showers and toilets were spotlessly clean, and though we didn’t use them, there was a washing machine and tumble dryer (not often found on small sites). The site was very busy with a happy atmosphere and though there were families with small children, it was very quiet and peaceful. About a 15 minute walk down the hill is a lovely pub; the Diggers Rest, serving good food. Though there site is quite remote, there is a bus stop outside the site, and many tourist places are only a short drive away. Some reviews say this is a ‘bog standard’ site - we disagree and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

Disliked Nothing to dislike

We loved it and would definitely return.

Aug 2026

Liked The location was lovely; with beautiful views across the fields and along the river. The clubhouse on Friday was great - very friendly and welcoming. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. The toilets and showers were spotlessly clean.

Disliked Nothing to dislike. Be aware, in dry weather the journey to the showers is no problem but in wet weather the journey it is not fun (in the middle of the heatwave, I got caught out in a cloudburst and was soaked to the skin by the time I got back to our pitch). Also the access lane is very narrow.

Excellent site, quiet, peaceful.

Liked Everything. This is a lovely, small, family run site. Very peaceful with lovely views across the countryside, great for a 'get away from it all' break. Kirsty is an excellent host; very warm, welcoming and helpful. The site and its facilities are spotlessly clean. The toilet and shower facilities are new (as is the site itself) and spacious. The site is in the countryside, it has a bridle path that you can walk along, and there is a pub (Druids Inn) in walking distance about 1.2miles away. There is another lovely pub (the Piccadilly)in Caerwys a bit further away - about 3 miles. Both do good food. The beauty of the Piccadilly is that there is a 'pick up and return' service (thank you Dudley). There is also a Chinese take away that delivers (closed on Tuesdays).
