Liked: Beautiful site, toilet and shower block was immaculate. The receptionist was lovely and helpful. Good facilities ie laundry and washing up area, electric hookup and WiFi.
Disliked: Would of liked a freezer to help with keeping ice blocks frozen for cool box as we were staying in a tent.
Wouldn’t recommend, especially if you have children.

Disliked: When we arrived just after midday on a saturday, the reception was closed and the shop was not open. Contrary to the campsites website, we found in the evening there was a big party going on in the field behind us. Even worse there was a couple opposite who did not stop shouting until around midnight, they were obviously very drunk and we were unsure what to do when he walked around trying open peoples car doors and then openly urinated on the field. Not a nice environment and as there are no staff, literally nothing you can do about it. We left early purely due to the discomfort.

Liked: The receptionist was lovely and welcoming. The owner was very helpful, we had some trouble setting up electric as never done the App before but it was very simple after some help. Would definitely have stayed longer and made more of our time there at the location

Liked: This site is our base for Mountain biking at Forest of Dean each year after a weekend at the Malvern's Classic Mountain Bike Festival. We love the site its so peaceful and relax. Brilliant little shop forgotten essentials. Fire Pit and wood to Hire & Purchase. They do breakfast and coffee in the shop as well, they also had a visiting local burger van with as "AMAZING"
The rest of the facilites are all clean and well maintained. We will be back in 2026 without a doubt, may even have the rest of the family with us...

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback which we do appreciate. We’re sorry to hear that some aspects of your stay weren’t quite as you’d hoped and you left soon after arrival.
The site is only small and although some pitches are further from the main facilities, there are some toilets near to your pitch although it does seem you may not have come across them. I will improve the map to highlight them better. Thanks for letting me know about the lights in the main block, I will review the timers - they are set to save energy but perhaps I have been too zealous! We are a dog-friendly site but do keep an eye on numbers but on this occasion the members of the rally you were attending did seem to have more dogs that usual.
I am sorry about the mowing but this was unavoidable - we do try to balance keeping the site tidy with minimising disruption but had to take advantage of a dry spell to cut the grass after several days of torrential rain.
Finally, our quiet time after 10 pm is in place so that all guests, especially families and those who prefer an early night, can enjoy a peaceful stay. We appreciate that everyone has different preferences, but it helps us ensure a good night’s rest for the majority.
We always welcome feedback and take it on board, but we do wish you had raised these points during your stay so we could have had the opportunity to resolve the issues before you left. We do hope you will stay again.

Liked: Welcoming right from arrival .. very friendly staff offering helpful advice on locality, quick safe ways walking into Coleford and surrounding area. The site itself is a pleasure to spend a few days in … pretty and attractive with autumnal flowers and peaceful camping pitches. Lovely woodland walks nearby. The facilities here are so clean and tidy. In all, a really great campsite experience. Thanks so much!

Disliked: Having to use my phone to use an app. The whole point of camping is to get away from stress. We registered on the app. Got kicked off the electric supply, don't know how long for and our coolbox was left not working and we don't know how long for. The problem wasn't rectified we were given a spliter to run off of our other plot. Another problem was inconsiderate parents. We've been camping for 25 yrs plus , no reflection on the owners but children running around our tent pulling on guy ropes . The parents just don't care. I don't mind kids having fun but be respectful.
1 small groan, why would you put the caravans ( probably with loo,s on board) nearest the facilities?
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear your stay didn’t meet expectations. We do understand how disruptive noise can be and always aim to maintain a peaceful, family-friendly environment.
Our reception normally opens later on Saturdays and we do appreciate that clearer information on our early close would have been helpful on this occasion. We’ll review our communication of this and make sure arrival details are more visible for those arriving after reception has closed.
The gathering you mentioned was a small, pre-arranged rally. We provided the catering and supervision ourselves, remaining on site until 10pm (although clearly not always in reception) to ensure everything stayed within our noise policy.
The behaviour you described from another guest later that evening was unrelated to this event. This is not typical of our campsite, as you can see from other reviews, and we are mortified to hear about it now. Had we been contacted at the time, we would have acted immediately, and I am sorry that this was not communicated to you in a better way.
We’ll be making our noise and conduct policy more prominent going forward so that all guests know exactly how to reach us if there’s ever a problem. We’re sorry your experience was affected and appreciate your feedback, which helps us maintain the friendly, safe, and welcoming environment that Greenacres is known for.
