- A peaceful 126-acre wildlife haven with miles of walking paths
- A 20-minute drive from Millersylvania State Park swimming beaches
- Within walking distance of a river and waterfall
If you’re trying to get away for some peaceful contemplation or quiet hiking, cart yourself away to Dragons Gate Gardens and Wilds in Tenino, Washington. Among 126 acres of trees, wildflowers and animals, you should have plenty of opportunity for the former, and as for the latter (quiet hiking), the land is maintained with miles of walking paths.
Indigenous people used Tenino, the area surrounding the farm, as gathering grounds. When Europeans arrived with a railroad, they continued that tradition. This farm has many untouched acres which haven’t seen chemicals for the last 30 years, and it’s designed so that people can gather and reconnect with nature.
Dragons Gate Gardens and Wilds is home to giant crystals, one of which is housed in a gazebo overlooking the surrounding fields and woods. If you want to meditate here, it can be arranged with Kathleen on the team for an additional fee.
The area has gentle hills which are filled with wildflowers in the early summer. The Skookumchuck River is a little over a mile away; here, guests can see a waterfall, walk along the river or get into the water as there is a low bank. The farm is organic, Salmon-Safe certified and free from pesticides. Dogs are also welcome. Composting toilets are provided.
Groceries can be picked up within a 10 to 15-minute drive of the land.
