Local attractions

There are several ghosttowns in the vicinity, as well as Native American rock art a few minutes drive down the road. We are on the edge of the Comanche grasslands and have an abundance of wildlife here in the high desert prairielands. Campers may encounter mountain lions, bobcats, prairie lynx, badgers, rattlesnake (taste amazing), pronghorn, deer, roadrunner and other birdlife. The garden of the gods and pikes peak in Colorado Springs are around 3 hours and a breathtaking local attraction. There are many shopping opportunities in Pueblo and Trinidad, or one could drive 4 hours to Denver and take a day trip in the mile high city.
