- Campground with 116 acres of forest, meadows and creeks
- A 20-minute drive from Waterloo and half an hour from Florence
- Dogs welcome; restaurant and dollar store five minutes’ drive
A little wild camping, anyone? Head to Oak Leaf Hills, a remote destination half an hour’s drive from Florence in Alabama. With 116 acres of forest, meadows, hills, cliffs and valleys, as well as creeks running through the property, this place really delivers on that wild feel.
Come here with friends, family or dogs, and get stuck into days of hiking or boating followed by an evening around the fire.
Oak Leaf Hills is 20 minutes’ drive away from Waterloo on the Tennessee river; at this spot, you can launch boats on the river and Pickwick Lake or get stuck into regular, seasonal food events. Brush Creek Park is only 10 minutes’ drive away too, for boat launching on the same bodies of water.
Speaking of food, the land is five minutes’ drive away from a dollar store and a restaurant. It’s 15 minutes’ drive away from a popular family café. For larger supermarkets and mainstream restaurants, you’ll want to drive into Florence, which should take around half an hour.
