If you’re keen to get acquainted with the bucket-list attractions of downtown Manhattan, jump on the subway to tick off the following: the Empire State Building (35 minutes by subway), the Museum of Modern Art (half an hour) and shopping on Fifth Avenue (40 minutes). Grab the ingredients from a nearby deli or bakery and duck into Central Park (half an hour) for a picnic at the landmark Bethesda Terrace, or have a stroll along the High Line (35 minutes) to spot all the street art.
