If item number one on your holiday checklist is having plenty nearby to keep those muscles burning, then power on over to Agro Camping Invernaderito, a family-friendly site 25 minutes’ drive from the city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna on the northern edge of Tenerife. Hilly hikes and coastal crawls are both within easy reach: clamber into the clouds half an hour away for stunning views over the island from the Mirador Cruz del Carmen or follow trails at the Anaga Massif, then paddle back to sea level at Jover, Bajamar or Punta del Hidalgo (all within 15 minutes) for sheltered cooling dips in natural pools. And then? Take off the hiking boots and hang up the flippers for a quiet day of sun worship and spectacular sea views on site. No need to interrupt lazy days with a search for food either: there’s an on-site mini market for stocking up on essentials and a shared kitchen for cooking up a feast – otherwise, the villages of Tejina and Valle de Guerra are within 10 minutes for snacks or supplies, La Laguna is less than half an hour away for local eats, and tipplers can wash it all down at Bodegas Monje, 25 minutes from base.

Liked: Bonito sitio. Todo bien pensado en detaille. Limpio y bien cuidado. Personal amable. Animales en la zona dieron un toque de estar en la naturaleza. Caminamos a la piscina natural Jover, que nos gustó tambien. Repetiremos con gusto.

FHU gravel and earth campervan campsite

Liked: We arrived late but staff were very helpful when we notified them. Gave us passcode to enter, plot number and even wifi code. Entry is up a steep lane. Our motorhome is 6m and think we may have struggled had it been much bigger.
A very relaxed feel and friendly environment. Good wifi, electric and hot water.

Disliked: There was nothing I really disliked.

FHU gravel and earth campervan campsite

Liked: Schöne Lage, Meerblick, sehr freundliches Personal. Überall Tiere auf dem Platz (Gänse, Enten, Pfauen, Katzen, Hunde). Kleines Gym mit Ringen für Dips und Klimmzüge. Gemütliche Lounge.

Disliked: WCs und Küche etwas heruntergekommen, Bad nicht voll funktionsfähig, zB defekte Duschen. Insgesamt macht alles einen (und) etwas zu rustikalen Eindruck.

Das WLAN reichte nicht bis ins Heck unseres Vans (nur bis zum Fahrersitz).

Die Rezeption hat unser Buchungsdatum verwechselt und uns einen Online-CheckIn-Link für den nächsten Tag geschickt. Glücklicherweise konnten wir bei Ankunft spontan umbuchen. Wir hielten das zunächst für unseren Fehler, aber die Pitchup-Buchungsbestätigung wies noch das korrekte Datum aus.

Local attractions

Head to Santa Cruz de Tenerife (half an hour’s drive away) for city days of galleries, museums and botanic garden strolls. History and culture buffs will want to make tracks for the military museum, the museum of fine arts and the Museum of Nature and Man. If those have tickled history taste buds, a quick jaunt along the coast to the Pyramids of Güímar is a must for an explore of the 19th-century piles of lava rock that (in spite of their relatively recent creation) have historians scratching their heads. For days out of doors, there’s plenty to entertain active types: climb into the saddle for some horsey excursions 25 minutes away or get in the car for scuba sessions on the south of the island. On the way back to base, make a pitstop in Teide National Park for lengthy hikes and cable car trips over Spain’s highest volcano, or try Corona Forestal Natural Park for hiking and biking. Treat kids to a splashing good time at Siam Park's Thai-themed water park before bringing them to meet the animals at Monkey Park, both around an hour away. If that’s not satisfying their needs for constant entertainment, stick a little closer to home base for a day at the award-winning Loro Parque zoo, where they can hang with lions, tigers and capybaras.

Changes to your holiday

Bookings cannot be amended within 5 day(s) of arrival.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed if you are staying in the accommodation units.
Dogs are prohibited from main facilities and amenities.
Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.

General

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Quiet hours must be respected between 10 p.m. and 9 a.m..
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and trunks must be closed quietly.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behavior is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
