Secure yourself a stylish stay on the outskirts of vibrant Lisbon. Kampaoh Lisboa is a leafy glampsite sheltered by pine trees and offering a range of luxurious pre-erected tents sleeping up to six guests – no need to worry about packing bed linen or towels either, as they all come as part of the rather smart package.
Staying here puts you so close to Lisbon (20 minutes’ drive) that days out sightseeing in this dynamic city may be on the cards, but should you prefer to stay firmly put on site, you’ll never be short of something to do. Facilities for active families include play areas for younger guests, swimming pools (one is a splash pool for toddlers), a mini-golf course, a football field and clay tennis courts should you fancy a knock around.
Any foodie needs are dealt with at the informal restaurant and licensed bar where you can hang out on the suntrap terrace and chat with fellow guests at the end of a fun-filled day. Additional amenities to make life easy include a supermarket for replenishing your supplies, a modern shower block and a laundry service so you can keep on top of the chores.

Local attractions
So… Lisbon (20 minutes’ drive) calls. But where to go first? The city’s showstopper sights include the extravagantly ornate 15th-century Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and the landmark hilltop Castelo de São Jorge. You can dip into museums of art and ‘azulejo’ tiles, take Tram 28E through the cobbled street of historic Alfama and visit creatures of the deep at the spectacular Oceanário – that’s plenty enough to fill a day.
Urban sightseeing done, it may be time for a dip in the sea, in which case head to the sandy pockets of Praia de Algés (five minutes) and Praia do Dafundo (10 minutes). If you’d rather have a livelier vibe to your beach, Praia da Torre (15 minutes) and Praia de Carcavelos (20 minutes) are both backed by a choice of shops, bars and restaurants.
Days out with the kids might include a trip to the Jardim Zoológico (10 minutes), where you can take a cable-car ride over the enclosures to spy on giraffes, zebras and pink flamingos. Alternatively, go hiking or cycling in the Parque Florestal de Monsanto straight from your pitch; this hilly woodland area has spectacular views over Lisbon to the Atlantic Ocean.
