  • Comfortable riverside yurt surrounded by wildlife-filled forest
  • A 20-minute drive from both Sulęcin and Gorzów Wielkopolski
  • Private kitchen and bathroom, plus outdoor space with barbecue/firepit
Walkers and wildlife watchers, this is the place for you. Tucked away in a secluded woodland spot by a river between Sulęcin and Gorzów Wielkopolski (and about 20 minutes’ drive from both), Gajurta is a quiet and comfortable yurt that makes a wonderful base for a nature-filled break. This is the kind of place where you’ll wake to hear the birds singing and the woodpeckers tapping the trees, while cranes, herons and hawks circle overhead. Turn your eyes back to ground level and you may well spot deer emerging from the forest next to your accommodation. Later on, perhaps you’d fancy a ‘bloodless hunt’ – following the footprints of deer and wild boar to see what you can spot – or maybe trying a bit of mushroom foraging in autumn. The area around your yurt is excellent for nature walks and activities like cycling, horse riding and canoeing, but there’s more nearby to check out too – this area is full of lakes, valleys and viewpoints, and the Ujście Warty National Park is only about half an hour’s drive away. If you need any tips, your friendly hosts Patrycja and Lukasz (keen travellers themselves) are happy to offer suggestions. Your accommodation here is in a warm and comfortable yurt that sleeps up to four and has lots of handy things like a kitchenette, a wood-burning stove and a private bathroom. It’s also got that classic yurt skylight so you can gaze up into the starry skies from your bed. Outside, you’ll have a firepit and a barbecue, plus outdoor seating to help you enjoy those peaceful rural evenings.

Local attractions

Cycling and walking trails weave their way through these lovely landscapes – Ujście Warty National Park (half an hour’s drive) is the main draw in the area, but there are also quiet trails hidden away more locally – ask Patrycja and Lukasz for their top recommendations. They can also help you organise horse riding and canoe outings if you’d rather explore in a different way. To soak up some of the area’s heritage, spend some time in Gorzów Wielkopolski (20 minutes), visiting the cathedral and Lubuskie Museum and strolling down Nadwarcianski Boulevard. Medieval fortress Zamek w Międzyrzeczu (half an hour) is also an interesting place to visit. Got kids to entertain? Consider trips to places like Park Dinozaurów (25 minutes), Majaland Kownaty (35 minutes) and Zoo - Port 2000 (45 minutes). Teens may also like to try out the activities at Wakepark Gorzów (half an hour).
