In the orchard primitive grass and earth tent campsite

Liked Everything was wonderful. The grounds are beautiful with a lot of privacy. The host was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely visit again.

Lelystad isn't a huge city but it has plenty to entertain visitors – you may like to take a wander around the Oostvaardersplassen nature reserve (15 minutes' drive and reclaimed from a former industrial site), visit Batavialand to see a reconstructed 17th-century ship or visit the Luchtvaartmuseum Aviodrome to see more than 100 aircraft. Venturing beyond the city limits, you may like to bike along the shores of the Markermeer, cross over the bridge to visit the Zuiderzeemuseum (half an hour’s drive) on the opposite bank, or treat the kids to a day at Walibi Holland (25 minutes). Bigger days out might take you to the likes of the Hanseatic city of Zwolle (45 minutes), the famed canals and museums of Amsterdam (50 minutes) or lively Utrecht (an hour). You can reach all of these on public transport from Lelystad if you don't fancy driving.
