Time for a seaside stay? Karkle Camp is in the little village of Karklė in the Seaside Regional Park, and it’s a fabulous spot for a peaceful break close to the coast.
Close is the key word here – this family-run site is just 400 metres from the beach and Baltic Sea, which means you’ll be able to wander over there whenever you like for some time swimming, sunbathing or just strolling along the sand listening to the sound of the waves. Want to see what lies a little further along the shoreline? There’s also access to the coastal bike paths that run to Klaipėda and Palanga, or you can take a short walk to Olando Kepurė for clifftop views out over the sea (particularly excellent at sunset…).
This is a simple and laidback site rather than one with lots of on-site entertainments, but all the essential facilities are in place. Guests have access to an outdoor kitchen, a wifi connection, a launderette and bathroom blocks, and there’s a play area for the kids. The village has a small supermarket and several places to eat and drink so you shouldn’t go hungry or thirsty here.
