Italian seaside hol? And how about a free shuttle bus to the nearest – and fab – golden sandy beach? Get thee to Lignano Girasole Park, a relaxed, family-friendly site a short walk from the marina of Aprilia Marittima and a couple of kilometres from the seaside resort of Lignano. It’ll take you around five minutes to drive to the nearest beach, but if you’d rather leave the wheels on site, that shuttle bus will whisk you over there for free. When not spending the day on the beach there’s plenty to keep you occupied on site: a swimming pool, kids’ pool, four tennis courts, a playground, table tennis and space to play games of football, basketball and beach volleyball. Eats and drinks are easily sorted on site between the offerings of the bar, restaurant and pizzeria, and guests can also pick up breakfast bits including bread and milk from the shop. This is a place that hums with activity through the summer months; a busy programme of activities and entertainment often includes sports tournaments, live music, films, theme dinners and karaoke. If you’re heading out it’s worth having a word with the folks on site for insider info on the special deals the park has with local restaurants and attractions.

Disliked: Camp is quite outdated and its best is long past. Toilets and showers are in a catastrophic condition. Even if staff try to disinfect them regularly, the years they have behind them cannot be fooled and the smell didn't go away either. There was extreme noise (party, futball, etc.) in the camp every evening until the night hours, which was completely inappropriate for us as a family with a small child. Overall, I do not recommend this campsite, as I believe a lot of alternatives in much better condition can be found nearby.

Disliked: Uklízečka chodila uklízet záchodky a koupelnu kdy se ji zachtelo. Podle mě by měla mít uklizeno než všichni vstanou a začnou chodit do umyvarek

Liked: Dostatečně velká kempovací místa s pevným travnatým podložím. Krásný čistý, velký bazén s lehátky a slunečníky. Prostorný kemp pro volný pohyb dětí např. na kole. Animační program pro děti a večerní zábava pro dospělé. Klidný kemp. Možnost zakoupit občerstvení ve formě nanuků, kávy, limonád, alko i nealko nápojů, jídlo. Příjemný personál.

Disliked: Není teplá voda na umytí nádobí, teče pouze studená. Starší sociální zařízení, něco již rozbité (chybějící prkénka na WC, poškozená splachovadla, některé dveře nešly zavřít). Není k dispozici malý bazén, i když je součástí kempu, byl vypuštěný. Dřevěná terasa u bazénu by chtěla opravit, je zkroucená a hrozí poranění o vyčnívající kovové úchyty a šrouby.

Liked: rispetto ad altri campeggi della zona, e piu' economico. il personale e gentile e disponibile.

Disliked: il campeggio andrebbe rivisto per alcuni aspetti: 1 i bagni sarebbero da rivedere sono troppo vecchi 2 all' interno del campeggio c'e un ristorante dove buoi accedere solo se hai i contanti , le carte di credito non vengono accettate. 3 il rumore e eccessivo da parte dei frequentatori del bar, che si prolunga oltre la mezzanotte rendendo fastidioso se si vuole riposare. 4 la spiaggia non e tanto vicina al campeggio , o usi la macchina o le biciclette per arrivarci.

Local attractions

If you're on your seaside hol with the kids – or indeed are sensible enough to sort a theme park day while on said seaside hol – two topping picks are within 10 minutes' drive: Gulliverlandia amusement park (with circus), and the Aquasplash waterpark, each four kilometres away. You'll also need to sort some time in Lignano Sabbiadoro/Lignano, for its serviced beaches stretching over several kilometres; head to the old centre for shops and restaurants too, and the Lignano Pineta gardens and paths for peaceful strolls. Also drop into the nearby marina, the biggest in Italy, to gaze enviously at the hundreds of boats. Delving into Italy's ancient history (there be loads), the Roman ruins of Aquileia are just under an hour's drive away and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Friuli within an hour and a quarter. Venice is an hour and 15 minutes to the west.
