What customers say

Well-kept camper stop with spacious, powered sites. Cleanliness and helpful owner praised. Great for Pompeii/Vesuvius access. Downsides: some lack privacy, showers pricey/basic, card payments not accepted, and tricky directions for some.

Powered grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Ok so let’s start with the positive.
There’s a decent view of Vesuvius.
The staff were pleasant.
The pitch was flat.
Great for motor homes.

Disliked Let’s start with the road to the campsite, narrow and unpleasant with Napoli drivers who drive like they stole it. We pulled the wing mirrors in.
The toilets were essentially four individual wet rooms with combined shower ,sink and toilet so they were wet. What’s with Italians not putting toilet seats on toilets designed for seats?! Putting 1€ in the slot didn’t result in hot water just a less cold shower.
Noise we had a guy next to us practising his guitar solo for well over an hour it wasn’t good enough to enjoy!! Lots of dog barking and vehicle noise and fireworks until very very late.
The lights. Far too many that come on and off with the wind right over our tent so we were woken frequently by a lamp as bright as the sun.
The final straw was the Ants and wasps. We woke in the morning to find our breakfast pastries literally black with ants, the floor was covered in ants and the wasps were outside waiting to ambush us. We packed up and left promptly. Only stayed one night actually only pitched for about 14 hours. Also felt uneasy leaving out stuff unattended after ‘the family’ came down on a pretend walk but were obviously checking us out.
It is also not a 15 minute walk to the Pompeii site it’s a 30-45 minute walk through an unpleasant area.

Powered grass and gravel RV campsite

Powered grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite

Powered grass and gravel RV campsite

Liked Choice of pitch upon arrival, water and electricity on every pitch, all facilities needed to service a campervan available. Good location for visiting Pompeii.

Disliked No privacy/separation between pitches, toilet and shower facilities were basic and not very pleasant. Additional charge for hot shower. They do not accept any card payments on site, contrary to the information on pitchup. No other facilities available.

Powered grass and gravel travel trailer campsite

Powered grass and gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked This is a great camper stop. Its really well kept, it has very good shower/toilets and other facilities.

The owner couldn't have been more helpful when we needed to get back from Pompeii and he was happy to help us and others in any way he could during our stay. We would highly recommend the camper stop to anyone coming to Pompeii

Local attractions

The Archaeological Park of Pompeii (15 minutes’ walk) must of course be your first port of call. The city was famously buried in ash when Vesuvius erupted in 79AD, and it’s now one of the world’s best-preserved Roman ruins, with amphitheatres, baths, temples, colourful villas and lots more to see. Vesuvius itself (10 minutes’ drive) is well worth a visit as well. Vesuvius National Park has 11 different marked trails to follow, including the Gran Cono trail that takes you up to the crater. For more of the area’s history, head on to the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum (half an hour) or check out La Trinità della Cava (35 minutes), a Benedictine abbey in the woods. For some seaside time, top picks include Torre del Greco (25 minutes), Castellammare di Stabia (25 minutes) or classy Sorrento (55 minutes). The museums, catacombs and Ovo Castle in Naples (half an hour) should be on the menu too – and of course a slice of pizza in the place that invented it.
