  • Ideal for families with children
  • A 10-minute drive from Lake Constance
  • Outdoor swimming pool and numerous leisure facilities
Families, kids, sporty folk, nature lovers and active older peeps: come to Campingpark Gitzenweiler Hof in the Lindau district of beaut Bavaria, to dive into the Allgäu region and lovely Lake Constance. On the outskirts of the town of Lindau, the site is popular for its location (Bavaria is a smashingly scenic area of southern Germany) and for its facilities and activities; the creative team here lays on all sorts for all ages in high season. There's also a seasonal pool surrounded by a grassy area for lounging on while the kids splash about, a football pitch, volleyball area, ping pong tables and a pétanque court. Kids have a playground, a trampoline and the means to pet animals at the site petting zoo, and we reckon all ages will like the nature trails and spotting feathery sorts flitting in and out of the bird boxes. Chess and other board games are available to borrow in the games room. Campingpark Gitzenweiler Hof also has an on-site restaurant, serving Bavarian-Swabian, Italian and takeway food, and a well-stocked shop selling fresh bread rolls and other essentials. To sample regional and Mediterranean specialties of all sorts, the local GITZ-Bauernmarkt market is held regularly throughout the year.

Local attractions

Campingpark Gitzenweiler Hof is in activity land – and sporty, scenic, cultural and culinary land too. Ask the team at (the very handsome-looking) reception for tips and info on what to see and do in the Allgäu and Lake Constance area: suggestions from us include pony rides, surfing, swimming, sailing and diving, cycling and quad biking, climbing, golfing, skateboarding, tennis, canoeing and kayaking... or drifting dreamily over this splendid landscape in a hot air balloon... Have a day in Lindau too to take a pic of its famed harbour entrance – tis mighty pretty – and to see its architecture, twelfth century Church of St. Stephan, the Haus zum Cavazzen museum and the old town hall.
