What customers say

This campsite offers a great location near the lake & town, with mountain access. Guests love the clean, spacious sites, some with private baths & views. Friendly, helpful staff and a good restaurant/bar. Some found tent sites unsuitable, facilities lacking, or had issues with low branches/parking. Rustic but well-kept with good ambiance.

Power optional grass and earth campsite (Private restroom amenities, premium)

Liked Private facilities were great, to have your own toilet and shower next to the pitch was amazing, as a paid for extra on the pitch, I would recommend.
Scenery is beautiful.
Lovely site with plenty of facilities

Disliked There was a cycling event on with loads of riders camping over, the cyclists were trying to use the private toilet/shower facilities frequently. Thankfully we kept ours locked, however others facilities on pitch had been used several times before arrival at their pitch.

Power optional grass and earth campsite (comfort)

Liked Piazzola in erba per la tenda comoda e molto spaziosa, buon ristorante interno e personale cortese e disponibile. Molti giochi per i bambini.

Disliked Cani liberi all'interno che defecavano nelle piazzole. Servizi igienici e docce insufficienti per il numero di clienti e non abbastanza puliti. Nessun controllo sull'identità dei clienti all'entrata.

Power optional grass and earth campsite (comfort)

Liked Very central, lively walk to the lake where we found a lovely lakeside bar. Site was very clean and pitches were large and shady, perfect in the heat. Lovely small bar that sold crepes was a nice end to the day

Power optional grass and earth campsite (comfort)

Liked The campsite was clean, had good lounge and washing facilities etc

Disliked The pitches were gravel and concrete. It was impossible to pitch a tent as you couldn't get pegs into the ground. Eventually we found a pitch with a small area of grass in the corner and managed to put up our tent with very few pegs. The site is not suitable for tents and your advertising of it is inaccurate. The name of your site (pitchup) implies tent camping.

Local attractions

The city of Chambéry (15 minutes' drive; buses also available) was once the capital of Savoy, and there are plenty of grand buildings around the place that reflect its historic importance. The best-known landmark here is probably the Fontaine des Éléphants, an elaborate elephant statue from the 19th century, but it's also well worth taking the time to go off the tourist trail and explore the narrow old town alleys and genteel arcaded streets that surround the centre. The shimmering shores of Lac du Bourget (20 minutes) are about 15 kilometres away; tourist shuttle buses run between Chambéry city centre and its most popular beaches in the high season. After some swimming, watersports or perhaps a lakeside bike ride, you could carry on the sporty theme with an archery lesson (15 minutes) or (if you’ve got a head for heights) with some paragliding over the mountains of Savoy and Isère (25 minutes). Town and city day trips are easily arranged at Family Camping Le Savoy too – it's roughly 25 minutes to gorgeous Aix-les-Bains, 45 minutes to elegant Annecy and just over an hour's drive to Geneva or Lyon.
