Located near the village of Saint-Romans in the French department of Isère, half-way between Grenoble and Valence, Camping Lac du Marandan lies in 55 acres of beautiful wooded countryside. Sitting 200m above sea level, it also offers wonderful views of the nearby Vercors Natural Park. The local area has much to offer including a wide range of outdoor, sporting and cultural activities and we will be delighted to act as your guides. We aim to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere onsite in which you can spend your well-deserved holiday enjoying the natural environment and making friends. Get to know us and your fellow campers, taste some of our local specialties at our weekly apéritif sessions, Sunday mornings at 10.30am. Holidays are a time to be with your children, especially the little ones. But once they reach five or so, you’ll find they want to get out and make friends. Our kids’ club is designed especially for them and offers a host of activities including colouring, crafts, dancing, organised play and nature walks, all taken in charge by our activity team. The club is open every day except Saturdays and Sundays. We also have a number of play facilities at the campsite and on the beach where children can play under the supervision of their parents, these include a trampoline, bouncy castle, and play area. Offering a safe environment for young and old alike, our lakeside beach is staffed by a lifeguard daily in July and August. Onsite facilities include areas for table tennis, beach volleyball, tennis and pétanque, while a grocery store is also available onsite and there is free wifi at the reception area. With our snack bar and restaurant, you can choose food from a varied menu to enjoy on the terrace facing the lake. Bread and croissant delivery is available: simply order what you need the day before. Both the bread/croissant pre-order and the bar and restaurant are available weekends only in May and June and daily in July and August. Our toilet and washing facilities are cleaned several times a day to ensure they are always spotless. Whether you’re waking up or winding down, there’s nothing like a good hot shower and our shower block provides all the hot and cold running water you could need! It is equipped with disabled facilities, a dedicated baby changing/ bathing room and children’s toilets. Washing machines and dryers are also available, for a small extra cost.

Local attractions

Use a free canoe to explore the lake or find a good spot for fishing. The lake is full of pike and carp as well as a number of smaller species including roach, gudgeon and smelt. A number of walks and trails start from the campsite or close by, otherwise we also have a mountain guide on hand to help take you a little further afield. Once you’ve met a few of our local producers, craftsmen, restaurant owners and guides you’ll soon start to feel at home. Don't forget your rucksack but leave your cares behind instead and take one of the signposted walks and trails which leave from the site. We know and love our region and look forward to sharing it with you. So whether you’re looking for a small, friendly restaurant, a gourmet eating experience, the best shop for tasting and buying local specialities or the ideal hiking guide, we’ll be able to point you in the right direction.
