Primitive forest floor campsite

Liked Excellent location for cycling, walking, running 15min walk to beautiful town of Sault. Location perfect for Tour de France. The Shower, washing and toilet facilities at bottom of campsite kept clean at all times. Great swimming pool. Staff very friendly and helpful. Fresh bread, croissants and pain au chocolates are available to be ordered daily. We loved our stay and will be returning.

Disliked Do not arrive later than 8.00pm.

Liked The tree sheltered pitches we superb for keeping the heat of the sun to a minimum!
The bread and pastries pre order and quality, lovely to collect on a morning!
Staff really helpful, even though they were busy!

Disliked Pool closing at 7.00pm! In the height of summer it’s a little too early, especially when having been out for the day!
One toilet/facilities block out of action and the other two were showing signs of wear! Although clean.
Shortage of hook up points when busy.

Liked Nice spacious pitches in shady woodland. Very friendly staff.
Near to a good supermarket.

Disliked The showers and toilet areas were a little basic. Would benefit from being cleaned earlier in the morning.
WiFi free near the office but hard to connect elsewhere.

Local attractions

Many of you will be keen for an assault on Mont Ventoux (an hour and 10 minutes by bike), but there are plenty of other active options in the area. If you have a head for heights, try paragliding (15 minutes’ drive), or have a go at canyoning and kayaking along the Sorgue River (20 minutes). There’s also a via ferrata rock-climbing course (also 20 minutes), and horse riding at an equestrian centre about 40 minutes’ drive away. For more sedate days out, you can tour purple-hued lavender fields and buy local honey at La Ferme aux Lavandes (10 minutes) – to see more Provençal landscapes covered in fragrant lavender, follow the five-km Lavender Trail (also 10 minutes) on foot or by bike. There are several gorgeous villages to discover in this peaceful corner of Provence. Start with the pretty squares and houses sitting on cliffs at Sault (five minutes), before heading for the fortified village of Mormoiron (half an hour) or the tiny hamlet of Blauvac (35 minutes) with its amazing views to Mont Ventoux. Montbrun-les-Bains (20 minutes) is also known for its multi-storey stone houses and the curative properties of its thermal waters.
