Disliked: Early departure the water in the shower was cold . No loo seats .

During your one-night stay, 23 pitches were rented and no one filled up with cold water....it has been several years since we removed the toilet seats. This is to make cleaning easier and honestly you are the 3rd person to complain about it....we are sorry if you were disappointed on these points, we sincerely hope that you were able to enjoy the Bay of Somme.

Disliked: Weit ab von Bäckern und anderen Lebensmittelgeschäften. Und deshalb etwas zu teuer. Unser Platz war zudem sehr uneben. Offenbar war er auch nur teilweise befestigt, denn das Wohnmobil sackte sehr stark ein.

Liked: Delightful staff - all of them - clean facilities - very quiet at night. Bread/croissants/pain-au-chocolat, if ordered, in the morning. Play area for small kids. Walkable to Baie de Somme wetlands. Bikeable to St-Valery-sur-Somme, which is beautiful, historic and full of nice places to eat.

Disliked: Wifi is extra and flaky. Roaming signal good.

Disliked: Our evening showers were cold. I know its not the campsites fault but a fellow camper left their dogs poo on our pitch. This could happen anywhere but it didn't help us enjoy our stay

I had no comments about the showers, it's surprising especially since you only stayed one night, but should have warned us. However, a 6/10 for a judgment of just one short night on things that you didn't even warn us about is really low...and to advise against our campsite to a friend for that is really surprising I hope you find a campsite that meets your expectations another time. Liked: Big enough pitches for a van and pup tent Toilet/shower/washing facilities clean. Easy to gain access to site. Good play area for kids. Handy stop off from south of France back to Calais.

Powered grass campsite

Liked: Very calm, quiet campsite. Toilets and showers always clean and not busy, plenty of hot water. Friendly and welcoming staff on site, nice snack bar open Saturdays & Wednesdays and a nice playground for kids. It's about 3km from Saint Valery sur Somme, so plan to either cycle or drive if you want to go into the town (which I'd reccommend) there is paid parking in the town, free after 7pm and a huge free car park just on the edge of town with a 10 - 15 min walk. I'd definitely recommend a stay here!

After some days cantering along the beach on horseback pretending you're on a film set, investigate the other options in the Camping De La Baie surrounds, on and around the Bay of the Somme and inland around Pendé and the villages and towns of Picardie. Ask the Camping De La Baie team about kayak hire or boat trips to get out onto the water – do keep an eye out for seals on your way – or hire a bike on site and pedal to and along the coast. Sea fishing is available in the bay or inland at countryside rivers and ponds. The Aquaclub de Belle Dune waterpark at Fort-Mahon-Plage should make a big splash if you're on the coast with the kids: on offer are indoor and outdoor pools, waterslides, wave machines and waterfalls, and a sauna, Jacuzzi and wellness centre for a more pampery grownup vibe.

Booking terms and conditions

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
The campground/park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Breed-specific legislation (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.
The park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Breed-specific legislation (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).
Your dog must be tattooed or microchipped.

Motorcycle(s) can be brought instead of the car(s) included.

General

Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.
In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Quiet hours must be respected between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m..
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and trunks must be closed quietly.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behavior is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.

Hired accommodation

Hired accommodation: a €300.00 ($326.62) damage/cleanliness deposit hold is required prior to arrival and will be released within 24 hours of your departure date after inspection of your unit should no damage/losses be found. The damage deposit will automatically be pre-authorized in advance on the card used to make your booking.
No naked flames are allowed inside the hired accommodation units.
Your unit must be left clean and tidy; a fine of €100.00 ($108.87) will be charged for unclean units upon departure.

Occupancy

No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Reception

Reception is closed from noon to 2 p.m.. No arrivals are permitted between these times.
Reception is open from 9 a.m. to noon and from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. between 04/01 and 10/31.

Safety

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.
Firearms are not permitted.
No electric barbecues allowed.
Open fires are prohibited.

Sites

A cable measuring at least 10 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.
You must follow management instructions when setting up your tent/rig and related equipment.

Taxes

Local city/eco tax is included in the rate.

Vehicles

No vehicle movement between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m..
Only one car is to be parked at the site. Extra vehicles must be parked in the designated area.
The charging of electric vehicles is not permitted on site.

Visitors
