Spacious, well-kept sites & great amenities like a popular pool/playground. Staff are friendly & helpful. Convenient location, esp. for Calais travelers. Can be busy/noisy during school breaks; a few mention occasional cleanliness issues.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked This was our first time camping in France so we were a little worried. We didn’t need to be ! This campsite is perfect! we are a family of four ( 11 year old and 8 year old) I am very fussy about facilities but the toilets were clean and plenty of them. The showers were warm and clean. There was free wife and the pitches were well spaced out. There is a pool which was great and even though it was holiday season there was plenty of space.

What made it even better was the owner. They went out of their way to help us! On the last night we made use of the take service and had two lovely pizzas.

We stayed here for 4 nights and we visited Dunkirk, Boulogne Sur Mer and Saint Omer. We also had a boat ride down the camels in Saint Omer which was brilliant.

A great little gem of a place!

Power optional grass campsite

Liked Lovely site close to Calais. Great pitch sizes with all weather parking. Restaurant was lovely with a nice choice of food. Only stayed one night so didn’t get to use the pool.

Disliked Even though toilets were stocked with toilet paper (rare in France) toilet was blocked (probably due to being stocked with toilet paper) So there was a queue to use the loo which was a tad uncomfortable after a 5 hour drive.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked The pitches were large and we were surrounded by beautiful apple and plum trees. The showers were always lovely and warm. The pool was lovely and a welcome addition on the hot days. We used the washer and dryer too, you need to purchase a token from reception for these. There is also a fridge to use, free of charge, if needed ( near the washer, near the pool area). The bouncy castle was always up, fun for the kids and there is a small park and games room. The games room had a big connect four, tae football and table tennis table ( didn't see any bats but think these can be purchased at reception). There is a restaurant open 6.30 to 9pm but we didn't eat here. We did have a drink at the bar twice, this opens 4 to 6pm. There's a small supermarket about a 5 minute drive away and an Aldi and another big supermarket near a wine superstore and something similar to home bargains/ b&m, about 15 min drive away. There's also a Lidl in a different direction, similar drive time.
30 ish min drive to Boulogne-sur-Mer beach and Calais beach. 53 ish min drive to Dunkerque.

Disliked No hand soap in the toilets. I had read this on reviews, so went prepared with a little toilet bag with hand soap and a toilet roll. Sometimes the toilet paper ran out too but was always topped up in the morning.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked Lovely site. Great and clean facilities. Pool great. Staff very helpful.

Disliked The WiFi is a bit iffy. It’s locked down so much it stops emails from private servers. Even the paid version. The site is a bit tight when manoeuvring a caravan but doable.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked Good location Easy to find
Polite staff Quick check in

Disliked Children slamming toilet doors and screaming. Mix of static caravans and chalets with touring pitches randomly slotted in. Narrow roads around campsite (we have a twin axle caravan) Restaurant definitely not a “Brasserie” Whole site needs some tlc including the “Brasserie”.

Local attractions

The site entrance is crossed by cycling and walking trails that take you into the surrounding locale, and almost 300 kilometres of waymarked trails are around the Caps et Marais d'Opale Natural Regional Park. The hilly surrounds are tiptop territory for bike rides: hire wheels on site to get pedalling. Several other activities are in the area: trails through the Guînes forest, treetop exploring at Opalaventure (40 minutes away) and quad biking in Rety (20 minutes). Keen anglers in possession of the correct licence can head over to Licques to cast their line for fine fishy specimens, or instead go trout fishing around the ponds near Courtebourne (a kilometre away). Several historic hotspots and attractions are within a short and simple drive of the site, like the reconstructed bygone village of Saint Joseph with its clock tower; the Rando-Rail from Nielles-lès-Bléquin for highly scenic hand-powered tours along a disused railway line; and Dennlys Parc for 30 squeal-inducing family attractions, shows and water rides. The Nausicaä aquarium in Boulogne-sur-Mer is where you can whisk wee ones off to goggle at sharks, sea lions and heaps of other sea-dwelling critters.
