- Family site in a lush green park near a river just outside Pamiers
- Hot air ballooning, parachuting, paragliding, hang-gliding and more
- Pool surrounded by hammocks plus summer circus and theatre for kids
Centrally located in the midst of a très magnifique park, and a short walk from the banks of a peaceful river… Pitch up at the green and serene sanctuary of Camping L'Apamée to be surrounded by giant leafy trees and lots of open grassy space.
A calm river runs peacefully by this lush and leafy spot, just outside the Ariège town of Pamiers. Fish placidly here along the riverbank, or get out on the water on a canoe or a kayak: the folk at L'Apamée have set this rural countryside retreat up to suit guests of all ages, whether seeking to get sporty or relaxed.
There’s a seasonal pool that in summer has extended openings so guests can swim until late, and a shaded and verdant space around it is filled with hammocks for long peaceful lounges alongside the pool. Combine with a cocktail too if you fancy an afternoon tipple, while the tiddlers are off being treated to theatre shows, circus acts, sports tournaments and outdoor games to keep them out of trouble while you get properly relaxed.
Come evening time, sit back and be serenaded with live music – think anything from jazz and swing to rock and pop – be regaled with tales at storytelling evenings, or mingle with fellow guests at themed dinners, karaoke nights and pétanque tournaments.
The snack bar serves up tasty tidbits like ice creams and themed bites in season, as well as freshly baked bread and pastries for delivery too.

Local attractions
The Ariège department is filled with outdoorsy stuff to do, from water-based stuff like canoeing and rafting, or caving and climbing around the gorges, to lower-octane hiking, horse riding or two-wheeled tours of lands filled with lakes, peaks and waterfalls.
Venture by car to the castle at Foix, the Forges de Pyrène museum and the medieval towns of Mirepoix and Mazères, all within half an hour, or a little further afield to medieval Montségur and its château, the Niaux cave in the Cap de la Lesse de Bialac hillside, or to the talcum quarry at Trimouns.
The area is a hotspot too for those seeking to head up to and over the high peaks of the Pyrenees: whizz to the airfield just outside Saint Girons for helicopter rides, to the club in Pamiers for glider and light aircraft flights, or to other places around the locale for hot air balloon floats and parachuting, paragliding and hang-gliding adventures.
