It's free, quick and easy!
- Woodland glampsite just outside the spa resort of Le Boulou
- A 30-minute drive from the beaches of the Mediterranean coast
- Jacuzzi, plus daily breakfast hampers to eat on your private deck
What a lush and leafy spot this is: the woodland glamping site of Le Mas Cabanids is a short walk from the spa resort of Le Boulou, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Albères massif, and in a land of lots to do: Saint-Jean-Pla-de-Corts lake is within a couple of kilometres, Céret within six and the Spanish border within 12.
Options aplenty are on site to foster further relaxing vibes, namely a Jacuzzi to bubble away in (while quaffing bubbly?), plus a good range of massage services available on set days of the week for pampering. And the food? Breakfast baskets of freshly baked breads, pastries and homemade jams are delivered direct to your door each morning, and should one feel wholly unfaffed to cook – or if the idea of alfresco eats on your private deck rather appeals – meals, picnic hampers and beverages of a pale and fizzy variety can be ordered for delivery. If you quite fancy the idea of eating out locally instead, then plenty of restaurants and cafés lie around Le Boulou too.
Toilets and showers are a short walk from the accommodation area near the site's entrance; guests are provided with a trusty headlamp to ensure a well-lit way on a midnight loo trip. Other than that, the owners recommend bringing trainers to wear for walking comfortably around this lovely tree-filled site.

Local attractions
Outdoorsy peeps are well sorted in the immediate locale, with Saint-Jean-Pla-de-Corts lake two kilometres away for fishing, pedal boating and waterskiing or tackling its inflatable obstacle course. Slightly further afield, you can clamber and soak yourself silly with canyoning excursions from Céret, six kilometres from base.
If you rather enjoy a day at the seaside, then the splendid sands and sea of Argelès-sur-Mer and Collioure are around half an hour’s drive away. The seafront castle of Fort Saint-Elme is within 40 minutes: be sure to bring a picnic and plenty of beach paraphernalia, as you’ll likely want to hole up around here for the entire day when you spy the sea views.
For culture-filled days, wander the exhibits of Céret Modern Art Museum to see works from the likes of Picasso and Dali, visit Perpignan for strolls around the gardens at the Palace of the Kings of Majorca, or take a trip to the fortified hilltop town of Castelnou, 40 minutes' drive from Le Mas Cabanids.
