  • A 25-minute drive from Lisieux in the Pays d'Auge area of Normandy
  • Heated indoor pool; games and activities for children; mini farm
What a lush and laidback rural site… Camping Les Pommiers Pays d'Auge is a peaceful, family-friendly site just a 10-minute drive away from the historic village of Cormeilles in the Pays d'Auge area of Normandy. There is a lot more to like about the location, too, as it's a 25-minute drive from Lisieux, a famed pilgrimage destination with half-timbered buildings, a cathedral and a basilica. For beaches, drive 40 minutes to the Côte Fleurie, and for fishing or watersports like canoeing and kayaking, head to Lac de Pont-l'Évêque, 25 minutes' drive away. The local area is famed for its cider and calvados apple brandy production, as well as that of cheeses like camembert, pont l'évêque and livarot. Back at Camping Les Pommiers, there are plenty of deck chairs on the spacious terrace alongside the heated indoor pool. The pool area has its own shower, cloakroom and toilet amenities, so thankfully, traipsing far from the poolside for comfort breaks or changing rooms won't be needed. Across the green, seven-acre site, there is also a pétanque area, an outdoor fitness area and an adults-only games room with a billiards table. When the kids need to let off steam, take them to the several on-site play areas, which include trampolines, bouncy castles and other games, or join in with the animal feeding activities at the on-site mini farm, where there are dwarf goats, dwarf pigs, a donkey, a horse and chickens. In July and August, the site has a bread and pastries delivery service. There is also a snack bar dishing out delicious homemade dishes and local produce on their terrace or indoor dining area; it's open every day during high season and on weekends only in the low season.
