The campsite Les Joncs du Roch is located in a green environment at the heart of a beautiful sea setting: the peninsula of Quiberon in South Brittany. Quiberon is a town and a peninsula on the southern coast of the Finistère department of western Brittany, near Carnac. The peninsula is 14 kilometres long and connected to mainland France by little more than a bank of sand with a road across it, with the entrance to the peninsula being overlooked by the nineteenth century Fort de Penthièvre. It's indisputably a place for arty-photos. On site you'll find a covered and heated swimming pool with jacuzzi, playgrounds with a bouncy castle and slides so that your little monkeys never get bored, multisports areas for games of football, volleyball, pétanque, hand-ball... There are also tennis tables if you want to practice your forehand loop. Camping Les Joncs du Roch is only a few steps from the beach (at 500m).

Local attractions

Naiads and surf buffs united, you'll be thrilled to know that only at one kilometre from Camping Les Joncs du Roch, you can enjoy some great aquatic adventures at Paradis des Sports Nautiques. Near the bay, there's a boat launch slipway for little boats, a sailing school and the marina. You can try many activities such as sailing, water skiing, windsurfing, storm sail, snorkelling… Ocean-side, you can do some surf, kitesurf and stand up paddle. If you like fishing, you can try your hand at gathering seafood by hand, go angling, or spear diving. Just in front of the aerodrome, you can enjoy a first flight and try some tandem skydiving. You can also do some horse riding at the Roch Club, 400m from the campsite or play tennis. In Quiberon town, behind the beach La Grande Plage, you can visit various grand villas dating from the time that Quiberon became established as a resort at the end of the nineteenth century, when train lines first arrived here, as well as some more recent developments. In town you can also see typical low Brittany whitewashed houses and shops, and the twelfth century Church of Notre-Dame de Locmaria. There is also a small museum dedicated to the history of the Quiberon peninsula, called the Maison du Patrimoine (on rue de Port Haliguen in the town centre). There are two ports here: Port Maria, where the fishing fleet is based and from where you can join excursions to the nearby islands, and Port Haliguen, which is the port for pleasure boats. At Saint-Pierre-de-Quiberon you can also visit the menhirs (the town lies at the southern end of the "Coast of Megaliths"). The western coast of the peninsula is popular with walkers, cyclists and nature lovers.
